- By the time Kaz is middle aged, heās realized what he wants to do with himself
- To be honest, he never thought he would make it past thirty
- He was surprised to even reach 20
- But his heist days are largely over at this point
- He still owns the Crow Club (of course) and will never let that go until he raises a protege to take it over
- Preferably a son ;)
- He and Inej do have children at this point
- Itās taken them years and years to get past their shared trauma but they helped each other through the process
- It never would have happened if they didnāt have each other
- Kaz takes great pride in his family
- It wasnāt something he ever thought he would accomplish
- He had barely allowed himself to wish for a family until he found Inej
- And even then it was years until he allowed himself to dream
- Heās been teaching his sons and daughters to follow in his footsteps and theyāve already secured respectable holds over Ketterdam
- They will figure out amoungst themselves who will take over their fatherās club when his time has passed
- But until then, Kaz is still the most respected boss in the city
- The DeKappel still hangs in his office
- A model of Inejās flagship sits on his desk
- A map of the Ice Court is pinned to the wall behind his desk
- Wylan sketched the map :)
- Kaz is still in good health when he reaches his 50s and 60s but heās still fairly surprised someone hasnāt succeeded at murdering him yet
- Jesper and Wylan still live in the city and theyāre never too long without contact with Kaz and Inej
- Inej has taken to braiding very small pieces of Kazās hair in private
- He hasnāt given up that awful haircut
- Itās her way of trying to make it better
- And after all this time, it still helps with physical contact
- Inejās hair doesnāt have a streak of grey in it even though she is also in her 50s
- She has taken to loveingly calling Kaz āold manā in private
- He doesnāt mind
- Itās nice to have a reminder of how far heās made it
- Numerous mob bosses have ruled the city and many more have tried and failed to kill him
- Kaz came out on top every time
- He still has his cane (of course)
- But every few years Jesper gets him a new one with a shiny new crow head on the top

The sun was warm against her curled body and if she dozed deep enough, it almost felt like the feeling Hades had given her low in her belly. It was strange and new but not unwelcome.Ā
She had been granted the attention of the god of the Underworld for the remaining hours of her stay at the party. As far as she was aware, the party was still going strong but Demeterās ignorance of her daughterās disobedience demanded Persephone wake up in her own bed and relatively on time. Fear of her motherās wrath was the only thing strong enough to force Persephone to bid Hades an early good night so she could descend back to the mortal realm. Hades had understood, had laughed even, at Persephoneās excuse. Apparently he was quite familiar with Demeterās overbearance.Ā
