I walked into our front door the other day, which I don't usually do, and while I was taking my shoes off I looked around and realized the multitude of weird things arranged around our house. Most of it is due to Mack and myself and our past craftiness, but Carrie and Maddy had a hand in it as well. 

I decided to post a series of photos of just what you would see if you came over on a random day. I promise I did not move anything or 'arrange' it - this is literally what our house looked like today. 

Apparently I (Katy) left my Goodreads account logged in on the home computer. So of course Carrie and Maddy added a bunch of books relating to potty training/poop/farts to my "Want To Read" list. Which then updated automatically on my whole Facebook wall.

We've come up with this new system that has proved to be hilarious.

If you are not familiar with the Harry Potter universe, first of all, why are you even friends with us?,  but second, in it there is a summoning spell that causes the item in question to fly to wherever you are. The incantation is "Accio!" (Some controversy with pronunciation, as the British audio book and the American audio book say it differently, but for this purpose it is pronounced "Ack-ee-ooo!")

One day a few weeks ago we made the joke that because we ask the youngest of us, Mack, to fetch us things sometimes we should yell "Accio!" before we did. Which quickly led to the realization that, delightfully, you could take Mack's name and turn it into a whole new spell, "Maccio!". We laughed, and then it seemed that that was it.

Last week, Carrie and I were watching a movie in the family room and we wanted some Diet Coke that we knew was downstairs. But being the lazy people that we are, neither of us wanted to get it bad enough to actually do it. I pulled out my phone and texted Mack, "Maccio the Diet Coke that is in the kitchen!" and left it at that, expecting he would simply laugh and not do it.

About three minutes later, we hear a pounding as if monkeys have decided to pick up drum playing as a skill. To our (hilarious) astonishment, Mack ran through the house, pounded up the stairs, and proceeded to fling himself to the ground (or he tripped, but I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt), holding the 2 liter of Diet Coke above him, as if he is Indiana Jones with the cross of Coronado, offering it reluctantly to the fedora-topped robber.

After we stopped laughing ridiculously, we asked why the hell he would listen to his two lame older sisters, and he said, "I don't know." We quickly realized that this was a power that should only be used wisely. But it's nice to know that the spell is out there, and is waiting for an object worthy of fetching.
