Maybe I'd say something passionate and strong

Squeezing my pillow at night

I pretend that it's you

But no matter how hard I try

My finger swipes across the screen

And my shoulder is here for you to lean

We talk about these random things

As I reminisce about the times we've had:

Teaching me to crawl and walk

How to be a man, to be the best I can

And knowing when to be silent, when to talk

Putting in me a faith in Christ,that Satan could not shake

Loving through all the mistakes that I make

Keeps you warm when you're cold

A straight shot into your heart

Always in my mind, running through my head

Why don't you run into my arms instead

I want to feel close to you again

Looking in your eyes

No thoughts come to mind

Just my heart beating

Words with empty promises

Drift about in my head

When they slip out of my mouth

The tender look that's back

In your eyes reminds me

Of a time long ago past
