Flux isn't much of a over thinker, SURE he plans ahead and thinks of several outcomes and variables that may happened but that doesn't mean he overthinks! But.... When it comes to Saps, his brain just MALFUNCTIONS. Did he say too much? Is he too close to Saps to make him uncomfortable? Should he move away? But if he moved away Saps might think he doesn't want him around and that is the LAST thing that Flux wants. He WANTS to be around Saps, wants to talk to him, have Saps' over his shoulder in a casual way --- because even though they aren't dating he can selfishly pretend, even if it's just for a moment --- wants to eat with him, watch movies with him, joke around with him, he WANTS. He wants wants wants wants WANTS god damnit! But he's afraid of messing up. He's afraid Saps will look at him too closely and pull away, cut his friendship with him and... That's that. He's so unbelievably afraid of taking that next step, and that //stupid// moment that happened on the couch solidifies he got too ahead of himself, too caught up in the moment.

Meanwhile, Saps is sort of the opposite. When it comes to Flux he doesn't really think, well he does, but GOD is it hard too. The moment he texted Flux drunk? Calling him //babe//? He's been imagining them dating, calling Flux the dumbest most sappiest pet names known to man just to see the man's reaction. He's been trying his best to get the confidence to confess only for it to crash all the way down and do nothing as a result. But its fine! It's so fine! Because the little moments he has with Flux, all the hand brushes, shoulder squeezes, and occasional hugs or leans into eachother, is //just// enough for Saps to be somewhat content. They're friends and he would never want to make his friends uncomfortable.

(Though he... //Fuck// he doesn't know. That text that he sent to Flux? That night when Flux came home drunk? Hugging Saps so tightly Saps could hear Flux's heartbeat against his //chest//? That night on the couch? Where they almost //kissed//, only for the TV to interrupt and Flux pulling away, making some excuse that he was "Going to the bathroom." even though he looked borderline //disturbed// once he realized what he and Saps were about to do? He doesn't know at all! But what he does know is he's gone too far, maybe he's been reading in between the lines with Flux for far too long, maybe he's delusional and this whole crush thing is making him see through rose glasses. Maybe Flux doesn't like him at all. Maybemaybemaybemaybe---
