You think I can’t tame that? I always come home. Always. Ravenous. Loaded. You know better than anybody: I’m bigger than God.

She sighed, shutting her eyes for a second to get the image of the girl in front of her out of her head. There was so much in Rae that she could see, but she wondered just how much of it was  false reflection of who she really was. She’d been shaped and dyed into so many different things, to be so many different people that a part of Jieun believed that Rae was not there anymore.
“If that’s the best comeback you can give me, then I’m disappointed.” in you. in us.Â
A fragmented part of her still remained in the girl. she gazed upon when she opened her eyes again. Rae’s eyes were not as clear as she remembered them to be, as though something had taken and beaten the light out of her. But Jieun didn’t push, she never did. Instead, she lingered beside the lost girl whenever she needed her because there were few people she could rely on.Â
“What brings you here then? It’s not just because you wanted to bicker, is it?”
“Shut up.”Â
Sometimes the girl was impossible to deal with but most of the time Rae managed to ignore it or shut that part off and away. Her eyes rolled in their sockets once more before placing down her cup and tilting her head to the side, allowing her dark wavy locks to touch the marble surface. She wasn’t sure why she was there. The question stunned her but she had a feeling why she was there but did she want to voice it... probably not. “Can you lend me some rent money? I’m going to be kicked out in a few days if I don’t pay... and apparently I haven’t paid for months or some bullshit...” Rae spat out in a hush tone as she started to look away from their table. She watched people twitched, twiddle their fingers, sip their coffee, laugh, silently work or read... they did everything. She hated asking for things since she grew up trying to be independent but she did it so often that it wasn’t a surprise anymore. It was constant favors or even some “IOU” kind of deal with Rae. Too complicated... sometimes. “Unless you want to take me in...”
@runestÂ
Her mysterious arrival had the word buzzing around the city. She was an interesting girl with a mysterious past of some sorts. No one knew why but everyone knew that she was strange and just down right rude. It was always a surprise whenever someone saw Rae with another human being... Let along have a job. Though her current job, wasn’t a current job at the end of the day. Because of her disappearance, they had fired her due to an unnoticed time off and basically Rae had not showed up to work in months. She couldn’t fight that, instead she attempted to apply to a different location. Girl needs to find some sort of income, right? But for now... she only had two people to turn to and one of them, Jack.Â
Jack was hell to her but at the end of the day, he always came through for her. Somehow and in some weird way that she couldn’t put a finger on it. Jack wasn’t that important to her but important enough that she was willing to put her life on the line for him and she was positive he knew that. Jack was just Jack and it helped Rae just be her true self. Whatever that was.
Her fingers twiddled away before grabbing her phone and opening up a new message. Jack’s number was easy to remember and possibly the only number she could remember if her life depended on it. She needed his help now. Not to mention she wasn’t going to do any funny business nor was she going to walk anywhere... like a princess Rae was.Â

“Who cares if you’re deaf. It’s not like you don’t have five million talents and skills that can help you or anything. Tch...” Rae rolled her eyes and felt her fingers twitch on top of her sleek black handphone. “Besides, who do you think you are...” Muttering into nothing as she settled down and took a sip of her overly expensive flavoured espresso drink.
She hasn’t seen anyone in months due to her recent escape, more like long time vacation from the harsh autumn to winter weather, and she’d love to see some familiar faces... If only she could actually find them somehow. Because of her escape, Rae had fallen out of her social circles, cliques, and whatever you may want to call them... friends (perhaps) and truth be told, she had nothing coming back to Seoul. Might be a good thing, it could also mean it was a clean slate but at the same time... the loneliness she’s been battling for years. It was going to jump at her sooner or later. Though on the other hand, it just meant she had another excuse to fly away. Jieun though? In a way she was a safe house for Rae. In a way.Â
