BILL & FLEUR WEASLEY - MOODBOARD // @billtheweasley

“Hope she grows out of that one. The more she knows it bothers you the more she will do it you know.” That’s at least what he’d heard since he had no experience with children himself. Victoire had gotten the Weasley roudiness though it seemed and well it looked like most of them had turned out alright. She’d grow out of it.

“They vere good. I vistited my family right before since I have not gone back since the transfer. It was nice to be back.” He’d missed his home country though he wasn’t actively looking to transfer back as soon as possible anymore. “Again! And how does Victoire feel about getting a sibling? This is exciting news.”

“Merlin, I hope so too. I theenk that’s why she does it so much now. She definitely knows it bothers us.” Fleur murmured, her eyes narrowing at her daughter. Victoire was far too smart for her age. She picked up on all of the small things. Fleur was sure that she’d gotten her rowdiness from her father’s side of the family. Victoire got her sass from her mother, however. 

Viktor kneeled down when he realized who was tugging on his coat, immediately smiling at the little girl before him. “Victoire! How’s my favorite Weasley?” he asked patting her on the head. He’d never been much of a child person until Victoire, maybe because none of his friends had ever had children before. “Now where’s your mother?”

He raised his head, spotting Fleur right next to him. She must have moved as he was focused on her daughter. “You know I don’t mind, not when she is so cute. I’ve been well, things are finally starting to settle down after the holidays. How have you been?”

If it were any other time, Fleur would have been much quicker to grab Victoire. She wouldn’t have allowed her to run up to a stranger. Thankfully, it wasn’t a stranger, though, and Fleur slowly caught up to the both of them. The early stages of pregnancy were the worst. The blonde smiled at the sight of her daughter who was hanging off the bottom of Viktor’s coat. 

“She’s very cute,” Fleur agreed, before murmuring lowly, “Although, the screeching is something that gets tiring.” She was joking, mostly. “I’m happy to see you and happy zat you are well. How were your holidays?” Victoire continued to attach herself to Viktor and Fleur only laughed at the two of them. “We’re well, thank you. I’m pregnant again.” 

Seeing all of these tiny outfits made Gabi emotional. She hadn’t much of Vic’s baby years, still away in France. The chance to see her new niece or nephew as an actual infant seemed all too exciting. She couldn’t imagine what she’d even do with someone so little and precious and fragile. Fleur would tell her. Her sister never let her flounder for too long.

“I ‘ope she gets a little seestor too. Then they could be like us!” Hopefully not quite as lonely though. She was glad they had all this family around them, all of these people to cherish them. And they wouldn’t have a mother who pushed them one way or another. “Wouldn’t zat be wonderful?”

Fleur was excited to have Gabrielle closer this time around. She hadn’t been around as much during the time when Victoire was a baby and she’d missed a lot. Now that she was in England permanently, Fleur was excited to have someone to rely on. She had some help from the Weasleys but it was different when it was your sister. Gabrielle was someone that Fleur trusted more than anyone else. 

“I hope so too,” Fleur admitted with a smile. “Wouldn’t that be adorable?” Fleur had loved her little sister more than anything when they had grown up. She loved being a big sister. The blonde continued sorting through some clothes, before admitting, “Although, I theenk Bill would like a boy eventually too. He’s already outnumbered.” 

“Nothing we can’t handle.” He assured her. It was sweet of her to ask. He knew  his work wasn’t always the most accessible. Muggle contraptions and their inner workings didn’t interest most of the Wizarding world. He knew this. So he tried his best not to go off on tangents or get too up in his own head. “I’m glad you’re able to pick your own cases, that’s a nice level of control.”

At her revel, he blinked and then grinned. “Again? Fleur darling, that’s absolutely wonderful! Congratulations, I’m happy for you.”

“It’s hard to come in to a family like this at times. Hopefully this time we will get better the more people we add.”

Despite what Arthur said, she still worried about Arthur and she knew that his other children did as well. He was the glue that held the family together and the Weasleys relied on Arthur for a lot. They all just wanted to make sure that he was alright. Especially with what had occurred over the summer. 

She nodded, “Thank you. Victoire is very excited to be a big seester, aren’t you?” She asked her daughter who squealed excitedly from the other side of the kitchen. It was very clear that Victoire was already taking the role seriously. 

“I was thinking pale blue, so that when she climbs up onto the castle she feels like she’s up in the sky” he smiled, resting an arm on Fleuros shoulders and pressing a kiss to the top of her head. “But I’m open to suggestions.” He smiled, pointing out the different paint cans. “I got a few different colours just incase she doesn’t like it too. I don’t want her to feel like we’re not paying attention to her when the baby comes.” he confessed, he loved Victoire so much and the last thing he wanted to do was hurt his baby girl.

Fleur took a look around the room as she considered the suggestion that Bill had made. It never failed to amaze her how good of a father he was to their daughter. “I think that’s a perfect color. She’ll love it,” Fleur replied after a moment. Victoire was becoming more in tune with the things that she liked as she was growing. Being a princess was on the top of that list and Fleur chalked it up to the fairytales that they read together. Leaning into Bill, Fleur murmured, “Of course. We’ll have to spend a lot of time with her before and after the baby comes.”

As Victoire grew more into her own little person, it became increasingly difficult to go anywhere without the toddler making a commotion. The girl was very bubbly and liked to talk to everyone. To be completely honest, she wasn’t sure how Mrs. Weasley had ever gone out with all of her children. The thought of having two overwhelmed Fleur a little bit. They were shopping in Diagon Alley and Victoire had said hi to almost everyone that she passed. Fleur walked with Victoire hand in hand, until her daughter squealed and ran towards someone that she recognized. 

“Uncle Vik!” Victoire screeched, pulling at the bottom of Viktor’s coat. Fleur walked quickly over to Viktor and her daughter and laughed softly at the scene. “Sorry. She’s feeling very talkative today. She’s excited to see you, as am I. How are you?” 

“We’re clearly both keeping busy.” He said with a chuckle. Hopefully they didn’t keep her too busy, he’d spent many a night in his youth at the Ministry burning the candle at both ends. Coming home tired to Molly and the kids had been his preset for much of their childhoods. While he didn’t regret providing for them to the best of his ability, he wished he could’ve seen more of their growing up.

“Oh, I take far less on than I used to. It helps that Astoria’s good at what she does. And I’ve got more paperwork than field work these days. Though I took Harriet on a bit of a surprise adventure, getting her set up for the twins.” He said, running a hand through his hair. “For such a large loving family, we don’t have the best track record adding new members. I do regret that.”

“Busy, but not too busy, I hope?” Fleur asked her father-in-law, trying to mask the worry that she held for him in her eyes. He was only getting older and she worried about him, much as his other children did, she presumed. Fleur smiled, “Thankfully, I can take cases as I want to. So, I must admit that it hasn’t been too awful.” She paused, before revealing softly, “I’m pregnant.” 

She nodded happily with his answer. Fleur knew Arthur enjoyed his work, but she didn’t want him to overwork. “That was very kind of you,” Fleur commented with a smile. She knew how Harriet felt to be coming into a family of this size. Being unwelcomed by some. “I do understand that some are untrusting or hesitant to welcome her in. It’s unfortunate.” 

George was attending more and more of the family dinners, especially since he wanted to be around Victoire. Not to mention the other nieces and or nephews he would be getting. His family was getting larger and he enjoyed being the fun Uncle. “I have no idea what you’re talking about, she already had that.” He shrugged nonchalantly though he’d most definitely done what he was accused of. “I’m doing well though! How are you feeling?” He asked curiously. He honestly didn’t know much about Pregnancy but he knew that it could be rough.

Despite her start with the Weasley’s, she loved them like they were her own family. It had taken a bit for them to warm up to her, but now - she was welcomed into the family quite nicely. She’d never had a big family, but she loved the chaos that it provided. Fleur rose an eyebrow at George and murmured, “I don’t think that she did.” She knew that she hadn’t, but she didn’t really care. Victoire was happy and that was all that mattered. “How is zee shop? Business?” She asked. “I’m feeling alright. The morning sickness has finally gone away, but the hormones are the worst.” 

When Barnaby had heard about the break in at the Ministry, he had of course felt a sense of dread. It seemed clear what was happening but some few to admit the troubles of war and greed. Barnaby felt like there was less security and his job became more remote. He could pay his team in advance to leave for the holidays, at least get less possible victims off the streets. When he received an owl from Bill’s wife Fleur, he had accepted immediately. Since his time in England, he had been trying to reconnect with his friends as much as he could.

“Oh, it’s no worries at all. Hello to both of you,” he greeted, giving a small wave to Victoire who he saw poking out. “I’ve been well thank you. It’s surreal what is happening with the Ministry though not too unexpected…hope it isn’t effecting your work too much.”

Along with everything at the Ministry, Fleur also worried about the Order. She’d stopped offering the cottage as a safe house, but she wondered if the time would come when they were looking for safe houses again. Of course, she wanted to keep her family safe at all costs. There was a war looming on the horizon and now she had more to worry about. She hoped that it wouldn’t be like the last time. 

Victoire poked her head out again only to shout, “Ice cream!” and then she hid behind Fleur’s legs again. Fleur laughed softly and patted her daughter on the head, before focusing back upon Barnaby. “It’s been steady, but the Ministry states that it’s taking all cautionary measures. I’m not sure how much that will help, but...” She trailed off, not wanting to get into her doubt. “Shall we go inside?” She asked with a smile. 

“I do not mind at all!” Gabi said happily, sitting amongst all of the boxes of baby things to go through. She still wasn’t sure if she’d ever find someone the way that Fleur had, she didn’t know if a Charlie existed out there for her somewhere. But her sister was happy and for that Gabi was absolutely over the moon for her. No one deserved this level of happiness more than her older sister. No one in the whole world.

Besides, she loved being an aunt. More children to spoil hardly seemed like the worst thing in the world. Fleur enjoyed motherhood and Gabi enjoyed aunt-hood. “Though I may cry, she was such a cute baby, and now she will be a sister!”

They’d been fortunate to get a lot of baby things when Victoire was born and Fleur couldn’t bear the thought of throwing them away when Victoire was too big for them. She didn’t know yet whether the baby would be a girl or a boy, but she wanted as many kids as they could handle. Three or four would be a good number. Pulling one of the little outfits from a box, Fleur held it to her chest. “I cannot believe she vas this little! She grew up far too fast.” 

Gabrielle was a wonderful aunt. Victoire loved her. Fleur smiled at her sister before murmuring, “She was a cute baby. I do not know if this one will be a girl or a boy, but I think she’s hoping for a little sister.” 

Arthur watched Victoire with fondness. Her love for the world and the people in it gave him hope for the future. It was why he’d stepped back in the fight. For Vic and his new future grandchildren, so no more parents had to lose a child to battle. But he hadn’t shown up to get maudlin. He’d shown up for a visit, the fun happy Papa that spoiled his grandchildren and daughters-in-law.

“How is it down on the lower levels?” Arthur asked. Maybe he ought to get Fleur and Harriet together and take them all out to lunch soon. They worked in the same place after all. “I don’t get down to see you nearly enough.

“There are always more reports of misused artifacts around the holidays, Astoria and I are up to our ears in work. She’s quite good at what she does. It’s a relief, honestly, knowing the department will be in good hands when I step down.”

Victoire was quite fond of most people. It astounded Fleur how big her daughter’s heart was and how she saw the world with such innocence. It was one of the things that Fleur loved the most about children. That being said, Victoire was extra fond of her grandfather and Fleur assumed that it was the gifts. However, she was also fond of Arthur. There was just a warmth about him that attracted other people. He was so kind. 

“It’s been quite mad,” Fleur answered honestly. With everything that was going on in the Ministry, she doubted it would be anything less. She was lucky to be out of most of the chaos, but there was still chaos nonetheless. 

“I’m glad to heart that you’re keeping busy,” Fleur murmured with a grin. “I hope that you’re not overexerting yourself, though.” She stood from the table to grab the tea and two cups before placing them back on the table.
