well i'm back here after my foray into other social media sites for a bit. that was informative but also ow, i forgot how much i dislike character limits. there's some other stuff but that's not what this blog is for. i know i come back quite often and go "get ready for some magic" but then fizzle out and never post anything that i've come up with. which, i'm going to permit myself to be a little hard on myself for, is bullshit. i love magic. the applications of ones imagination to interdimensional cause and effect is wonderful. i guess while figuring out my identity i did come across the fact that if i were in a d&d setting, my class would most likely be bard/cleric. like, granted i'd be on the lower end of charisma, but probably be fine with a +3/+4 modifier on both dexterity and wisdom. which is arrogant to say i'm wise, but wisdom affects perception skills and i've tried to train my search/listen/spot skills my entire life. aside from that cute little bit of sharing, i give to you a small chant for grounding i came up with, from the sea with love:

so things are getting more vivid while a bunch more confusing. personal dreams are starting to run together and reuse old parts from previous dreams. astral work is getting me to go up against bigger and meaner adversaries. like talking the size of a parking garage up to a moderately sized shopping mall. this is what happens when you start to feel a bit lost when you're supposed to be helping people find things and themselves. getting overly distracted by things is making this wandering harder than it needs to be.

so technically i've stared into the abyss, had the abyss stare back and offer me some tea. shits been weird. mentally and physically i'm not great, emotionally/spirtually my head isnt on right, and 90-99% of my dreaming is spent working as an outside influence to alter things for a positive outcome. barring that my in-head dreams have evolved into like, alternate days. idk, its kind of hard to remain tethered here. i don't want anyone to forgo their connection with themselves just to get away from reality so please be mindful of that and find something to anchor or ground you. i'll be around making more magic things and stealing people's curses to snack on.

Plants grown for Potions: Datura
Datura belongs to the classic “witches’ weeds,” along with deadly nightshade, henbane, and mandrake. Most parts of the plants contain toxic hallucinogens, and Datura has a long history of use for causing delirious states and death.
It is an essential ingredient of love potions and witches’ brews. The witches brew is made from the “hexing herbs,” one of which is Datura aka Joy Juice. Other hexing herbs included belladonna, mandrake, henbane, hemlock and Opium.
To make a witches brew boil down all the ingredients in fat, in your cauldron, using your broomstick to stir the brew occasionally (it’s interesting to know that opponents of witchcraft alleged that the fat used in the cauldron was that of an unbabtized stillborn child).
In South America the seeds of the Tree Datura are powdered and mixed with pig’s fat to form an ointment used for healing and also by shamans for their out of body travels to the spirit world – however it was usually only used in times of great need, such as for a soul retrieval or to reverse a great curse caused by the ancestors.
In folk magick it is used much more safely to break hexes and reverse curses back to the sender.

- If anyone comes across this, feel free to ask for opinions on question, but know that I will not claim to know anything for fact, since my experience is still limited. Subjects I have more than a basic familiarity with pretty much falls under dreams. I've dabbled in a lot of the things but am not entirely confident in my knowledge concerning said things.

MAN. I gotta say, it’s far, FAR better to read Actual Medical/Neuroscience books on alternative healing than magic books. Like waaaaaayyy better. I really cannot emphasize enough how better. Because they’ll actually have widely supported explanations for why the alternative healings work rather than cherry-picking anecdotal studies and evidence.
Some absolutely lovely books I’ve come across:
Guided Imagery for Self-Healing (Second Edition), by Martin L. Rossman, M.D. [Why visualization/hypnosis/relaxation actually works in healing, supported by a TON of studies and written by an actual licensed physician. More deets here]
The Brain’s Way of Healing by Norman Doidge. [Neuroplasticity with relation to pain/healing, it’s SUPER DENSE so I can’t summarize all of it here cuz im not done yet but holy shit it’s a great book, it’s won a fuck ton of awards, and it’s only $1.99 for the ebook on amazon so please grab it if you can!]

Update 2019.02.10:
I FUCKING ASTRAL PROJECTED AGAIN FINALLY. I had to go down through my body and out through my anchor point after letting go of all my tension but I did it. I ended up in a space ruled by an ocean spirit/deity and met a few dragons, but it was nice. It reminded me of my own personal space. It was suspended above a world covered in a planet-wide sea. Also it was a weird sort of organic magic-tech that reminded me of certain depictions of non-Abrahamic heavens. I'm going back there tonight to figure out what was trying to curse me with a gold dubloon.
Keep trying guys. Your paths will be devoid of fallen trees and flooded rivers if you keep on them.
