A simple question
“I mutter when I feel like it!” she retorts a bit and sighs stretching a bit. “My beautiful voice? Pfft. Why thanks, anoth’ person told me that .. an’ what he got was a kickin’. Well an’ since ya didn’t insult me, I’ll take it as a compliment…” Her face was glowing pink a bit. She doesn’t know how her accent came out like this … but it just did when after all the time living in the wild. Although she must have been influenced by someone …. who was it?
“Oh, I can take a joke when I feel like it~” Sapphire rolling her eyes a bit defense-fully and seeing how the nickname at random she just gave shut him up. He finally shuts up. Now how can a small little nickname can be such a big impact? It was still lingering in her mind, that she said it someone once long time ago… who was it though?
When he claimed about no other girl not being important, her face was glowing more pinkish and red than ever. She was actually blushing, but she turned her head away folding her arms not to let him see this odd pink face of hers. It’s too absurd! “Yeah, a small little condition! Since ya’re fine with it, here’s what I want.” She took a deep breath a bit embarrassed for wanting this condition, but she needed it for herself anyway. And why did he look so nervous again? Gee!
“Well, when we go to the dance… I want to be the one that leads.”
"You are a violent little miss, huh?" He laughed nervously. It was really strange how they seemed to switch spots. All of this was his fault of course.. She would have stayed the same if he hadn't done something so stupid. Ruby adjusted his headband, making sure the scar was not showing. Way too much conflict would happen if she saw it. There was no way that he was ready for that or even going to explain who he was. For now, he was going to be that freak that talked to her at times.
Ruby bit his lip to keep him from crying. Just being around her made him think about it.. She was slowly remembering without noticing it... Somehow, he would have to stop that since she already called him by his old nickname that she gave him. A cute little nickname it was and he really liked it. "You sure are something.. Such a mean little girl."
He listened to her request and began to laugh a bit too loud. How foolish he was going to look! Still, he had no problem with it at all. The only thing he cared about was about being near her. "Alright. I don't know how to dance so I really don't mind." Ruby couldn't help, but smile at her. "Such a cute request~!" His face was still a bit red, but he was too happy to care. "Well, I guess I will see you later."

She tilted her head lightly folding her arms a bit defensively and pouted. Well, she seemed a bit eager for him to come over but what was wrong with that? Sapphire had a good reason for being eager or so, since he did want to talk about something. It did sound important to him to talk about quickly. “Well, almost, since I thought I was goin’ to be waitin’ forev’ an’ find out thar’ wasn’t a reason ya needed to talk to me…” she muttered and shook her head. “I’m not waitin’ for ya leave when you just came. An’ no, thar’s no one else ‘m waitin’ for, ‘cept for you of course.”
Sapphire was getting a bit annoyed as Ruby seemed to be talking in riddles. He was actually thinking that she was going to be pleased to see him go away as fast as he could. No, she wanted someone to come over to the dorms anyway, she didn’t mind if it was Ruby or who cares. “Laugh, an’ laugh all ya wan’ ‘cause ‘m not really gettin’ what you want anyway, Ru.” Did she just nickname him? Wow, that’s a first … she guess, although that nicknamed seemed a bit familiar as she said it. There goes her cracked skull messing up her memories again. Augh!
Placing her right hand towards the place she hit her head as she was a child, rubbing it lightly she stopped talking as she glanced at Ruby’s cheeks turning red. ‘Well this is an odd sight for sure.’ She thought as he kept muttering to himself about something, but she didn’t quite catch it. Getting a bit impatient, she sighed while rolling her eyes just wondering why he must take so long on something he wanted to tell her.
“Maybe I should leave you out here mutterin’ an’ I go back into my dorm drinkin’ my now cold hot cocoa….” she spoke a bit bored and her eyes looked towards him as Ruby finally spoke.
“Uh, what I wanted to ask is...” She nodded listening although she looked back hungrily for something on the table. “You know the dance that is going to happen… Well, I don’t know if anyone has asked you, but… I’d be honored to go with you, pretty lady.” As he finally finished, Sapphire’s face was pink, dreadfully blushing pink.
“… …. …. … Why would ya want to take me… instead of those other pretty girls ….” Looking down, she was covering her face with her left arm, was all she could say with her face hidden. “….uh, uh… I would accept… but… under… one condition…” She felt a little stupid for wanting to do this condition, but all fair chances for him taking too long to ask, so why not have a fair game …. ?
"Aw, come on.. I am nothing like that. Don't mutter so much, I want to hear that beautiful voice of yours." He felt relieved that no one else seemed to be near. Far too embarrassing for this to be known by someone other than themselves. He hadn't told Ritchie about this and that was his roomie.. "You talk funny. Wont lie when I say I sorta like it." It reminded him about how he used to speak a long, long time ago.. Ruby used to be so proud to be Norman's son.. How disgusting he used to be and he could never change that.
Ruby gave her a playful look. "Oh, can't you take a joke." The nickname made him shut up. Glancing away, he couldn't help, but feel guilty. This may have been a selfish thing for him to do. Memories would be brought up and it could break her down. She may act strong, but he really wasn't sure if she was.. All of this was going too fast, even for himself.. "It's alright now." He said under his breath. Looking back at her, he felt nervous about it...
Waiting for answer, he tried to avoid eye contact. When she spoke, Ruby gave her a shocked look. "What.." He shook his head, "No other girl matters to me." It was the honest truth. He didn't know any other girls too well, they were just there. None of them were important to him like Sapphire was. She was the single most important girl to him.
It made him happy that she said she would accept, but the next part was different.. "Huh..?" He nodded, accepting it. "Alright." Ruby was a little scared to find out.. Did she remember and was going to hurt him? Just what was she going to do with him.

While in the room, Sapphire was sitting on her bed meditating for a while thinking about many things. She went to the festivities, and joined some fun here and there. She also met some of the girls whom she casually talked with, but her mind just kept drifting away for no reason in particular. She wasn’t really into the engaging into the conversations they were chattering about, although one thing made her a bit perk up.
There was a talk about a Halloween dance, that some people would be going or … maybe a whole lot that is. Sapphire is not really into dancing and probably, no one would ask her out there. Although there is one possibility … ahaha … probability 0%. Continuing on, she began wondering what did Ruby want. Looking anxious and all, what could possibly upset him? He’s just such a good guy always smiling, or so she thought. He said he’s coming over to her dorm to talk about something. He did act a bit nervous.
Getting up from meditating, she got up stretching her arms and body, she put on a jacket and blinked as someone rapped on the door. “Sapphire.. It’s me, Ruby.” Ruby’s voice was barely loud more like a whisper, and she headed towards the door to open and let him in.
“Hey! You actually came! Anyway what did you want??”
He really wasn't sure how this was going to go. It was hard to tell how she felt about him. At times, he'd make her mad, but she would never say she hated him. Not that he expected for her to hate him. Doesn't surprise him that she can't recognize him, he changed a lot in the past years.. They both changed and it was his fault. The least he could do is repay her like this, but something made him hope that she would remember him. Would she hate him for what he did? For being so violent..
Shocked by how energetic she was, he laughed. "Did you really expect me to not keep my word?" Well, she was right about that. He almost didn't come by.. Was she really this eager the whole time? With a smile on his face, he continued to talk. "Do you want me to leave that bad? Or are you waiting for someone else to come by?" Ruby laughed once again, he was really confident about what he was going to ask. That and he was somewhat stalling to prepare himself for the results.
For some reason, he was just really scared about asking. He still really didn't have a lot of friends and he could be friends with Sapphire. Only, Ruby didn't want to be just friends without her knowing who he was. Words, he wanted her to say certain words to him. As to what those words are was a bit confusing. All he wanted was for her to say that it wasn't his fault. Even though, he would always know it is his fault for what happened to the both of them.
"Uh, what I wanted to ask is.." Ruby felt his cheeks get hotter as he spoke. "You know the dance that is going to happen.. Well, I don't know if anyone has asked you, but.." Taking a quick pause, he continued. "I'd be honored to go with you, pretty lady." His face felt completely red. Ugh, this was really stupid of him..

Ruby walked along looking for Sapphire's dorm. He really wasn't sure if this was a good idea. At first, he planned to ignore her, but what if she got taken away? There was no way he was going to let some guy take her. Well, all of this was stupid of him. It was just a dance and it was not like she was going to get married. Why did he do this? Ugh, why did he have to be so stupid.
There was no way he could take it back.. He told her he was going to come by and talk to her.. What was going to happen? They barely know each other and she still didn't know who he was.. If she were to find out who he is.. Would she hate him for what he did? Now, he really hoped that he would be able to go back to Johto soon..
Nearing dorm A-5, he knocked on the door. It was now or never.. "Sapphire.. It's me, Ruby." Ruby wondered if he was loud enough for her to hear. Ehh, she was probably upset with him.. Or thought he was a freak.. Why this..

[Having just got out of an afternoon swim practice, May headed back towards the dorms. Her brown hair was still damping, dripping occasionally onto the beige cardigan over her school uniform. Lost in her thoughts as she walked, suddenly a loud “hello” was flamboyantly shouted down the hallway. She forgot his name, but she’s definitely seen him before.]
[Raising her eyebrows at the blouse, she looked impressed] Wow, he.. made that? [scurrying over she eyed it, a smile slipping onto her lips] That’s really good!!

Ruby felt proud he made the decision, he did get so much attention. Quite a few people seemed impressed.. Well, he has been doing this for a long time.. All for one special girl who didn't even know who he was at all. He will get her to notice him one day! Today was not that day and maybe in a few months.. Anyway, this wasn't about her in the first place so why should he care!
A girl had come up to him to see and was curious about it. "Oh, I need people to model my clothes.." He took a long stare at her. Why did this girl look a lot like Sapphire? It wasn't that hard to tell that this girl wasn't Sapphire. The figure looked different as well as her voice. Same face.. This was certainly going to bother him.
"Uh.. Hi. I'm Ruby." He spoke in a normal tone, trying to cover that he felt a bit strange. Not only did this girl have the same face as his precious crush, he really wasn't good with talking to people. "What's your name..?"

He pondered on what to do. The boy lacked a female model which he needed badly, since he did not want to go through strange situations.. Just how would he do it...? Ruby really did not want to make an ad or ask the VP to help him.. That man was probably too busy and far too kind to reject it!
Walking away from the dorms, he stopped in his tracks. This would be the best place to ask, right? Moving to the side, he took out this sewing kit and began to sew a blouse. Wasn't enough to catch someone's attention or to do anything else.. Ugh, just how could he get someone to notice him? After thirty minutes passed, he thought of an idea.
"..." Ruby gulped, he would have to use that loud voice of his. "HELLLLLLLOOOOO~!" He spoke as loud as he could and noticed some people began to look at him. "I'm Ruby and I enjoy to make people beautiful.. Well, more beautiful than you already are, ladies." How stupid he sounded, but it was for a good cause. "Here's an example~!" The student raised up the finished blouse.
Hopefully, the attempt would attract someone and then he wouldn't have to dress Ritchie up while he slept.. If this didn't work, he'd go beg Sapphire to be his model.
It was not as she intended show him her scars. He doesn’t know the least truth about it. Some of them… were from that old incident that had caused her some traumatic memories. Most of them, is from being reckless, too reckless that got her some broken bones and ribs, but also getting a strong and worn out body.
She flinched a bit as he touched one of them. It still hurts … even now, those endless scars. Sapphire never liked talking about them, nor she never liked showing them off. They weren’t a prize. It was just a sore regret of not being able to help that … person back then.
She sighs holding her arms tightly, not uttering a word. She just wanted to be silent, mute, deaf anything that would just let her get away. Then again, it was rude, she guessed.
“… hn.”
Glancing away, he felt his mood darken. Had she always been this way when they were kids? He thought she was more cheerful and loved to talk.. Well, he used to love to talk and he still did.. Things were different now. Ruby had finally found the girl he had been looking for and she hated him so much.. If she knew who he was, she'd hate him much, much more. After all, he showed her such ugly things and now he was a complete freak.
Just how did anyone manage to talk to him? All he did was annoy people over and over about fashion.. That time he wasted in the hospital and studying fashion was all for Sapphire.. Only for her to hate him! Why did something like this happen to him! None of this was fair and he didn't know how to make it any better.. Giving up on telling her, he already decided on that..
Seeing her happy was good enough for him.. Even if that meant staying out of her life... She could end up with someone else if he didn't act, but if she was happier that way.
"I get that I am a strange person. You don't have to force yourself to talk to me. Pretty obvious you hate me." He spoke normally, even though he was ready to just run. "Forcing you would hurt me." Ruby muttered the last sentence to make sure Sapphire didn't hear.

Getting more annoyed then ever, she opened her mouth wide, soon biting into his arm, and shoving it away. “Yes, I know how bad it could be. No need to remind me. You want me to take it off? Sure! I will, if that will keep you off my business!”
She pulls all the buttons off opening her suit, and it revealed her upper body covered with old faded scars and the binding around her chest. She didn’t feel a bit uneasy not one bit, and folded her arms.
With her bite, Ruby winced in pain. It was very clear her teeth were very sharp and she wasn't afraid to let people feel that. Her violence didn't hurt him, it seemed to have hurt his feelings.. Sapphire wouldn't have been like this at all if he hadn't been so ugly in front of her when they were kids..
Scars, Ruby saw scars on her skin which must have been from back then.. Without realizing, his hand had touch one of her scars. His useless aftermath, if only he could have done better to protect her.
The only person Ruby has ever cared about so much, hated him so much. Wasn't a sad thing, it was actually quite funny to think about it like that. "Let's go get you dressed." His voice was as calm as it could be, but he was a tad annoyed with her. Just how did she end up like this? Had he tainted her so much that she is no longer the girl she used to be?

At his compliment, Hikari raised a hand and swiped at her bangs with a giggle—the closest she’d come to a hair flip in public. “Oh, that’s sweet! Thanks.” At the following request, however, she cocked a brow. He did sound a bit creepy, and she wanted to know exactly who she was dealing with.
“Dress me up? Why?” she said. “That’s an odd request.”
Hah.. This was going to be strange. "Well, I like to dress people up.. That's pretty much it." Honestly was good, right? Ruby was just putting himself in a tough spot and this wasn't going to go well. All he wanted to do was distract himself from anything else. Stupid, stupid, stupid. "Uh, I just.. Was looking for a female model.."
Though, he could just make Tetsu dress up as a girl and everything will be solved!
“….Hello.” Red looks back at the boy in interest, his eyes flitting away from the magazine the other had been holding. What others were reading was none of his business, and he intended to keep it that way.
“…Um.” he starts, feeling slight uncertain. What was he supposed to say, ‘Oh, I just came here so I could try to be friends with you.’? No, that would make him sound like some sort of stalker. Deciding to go with his normal approach, he tips his hat slightly and offers a hand, “…I’m Red.”
Ruby studied the other boy, who seemed interesting already. A man of very few words, is that what people said? Shaking the quiet one's hand, he gave a friendly smile. As much as he could be friendly that is. Well, what could Ruby say to make this less.. Awkward?
"I'm Ruby." Giving him a look and then thinking for a bit.. "Do you need help or did you just want to talk?" With that, he was done talking for now. Something made Ruby feel, uneasy?
She goes to the kitchen still fuming folding her arms, and nods her head at the chef making an delicious desert, a strawberry and whipped cream crepe that made her drool at the sight of it. She wiped her mouth with a tissue, and walks some more and grabs an apron. Sapphire was about to talk to another chef, until she heard Ruby’s lingering voice.
The girl sighs and was about to begin her question towards the chef, but he spun her around. Her frown turns more angrier with her fangs coming out, all sharp and ready to bite. “… I know how to bind, and I made sure that’s its done properly. I do it at home at times when I’m out in the forests camping and doing field work, since I don’t want to attract any attention. I got other things to worry about then damaging my chest.”
Her frown deepens a bit, and soon her face turns a bit red, as Ruby holds her hand towards his mouth. “… I’m seriously going to bite you, you’ll regret it.”

Giving her a frown, not the ugly look he could have on his face like his dad did.. Proper binding could still damage a person and who didn't know that? Just don't hurt yourself like this.. I care about you so much and you want to do this to yourself? Stop being so.. Stubborn.

Still holding her hand, he pulled her near him. Now face to face, Ruby spoke harshly. "Then bite me." She could hurt him as much as she wanted as long as she didn't hurt herself. "Now, how do I take this off?" Reaching for a button, it was confusing to do this..

Strange, strangers. Grinning, he let Ash think about what he would do to him. Teasing him would be fun, but he had to know where to stop since.. "Oh, I just like messing around with you~." He felt a smile creep on his face when Ash said that they are friends. Someone who didn't think he was a creep or a freak.. Even though it was so true.. "Well, you are keeping my secret as well.. I'll tease you as much as I can, my dear friend!" Pausing when Ash had asked about the art class, Ruby wasn't sure if he wanted to share that.. "Let's just say I met someone and I got interested in fashion and that sort of things.. It reminds me of that person."
“….. Hush up.” All she could mutter, with her face turning into a small frown. She folded her arms, and sighed, with her face turning into a pout. She did not want him to see her in this, in all places. But… he did claim he worked here, so woe to her. Maybe she should ask the manager if she could quit.
“… Yeah, I’m being serious. I like wearing these kinds of things. It’s fun. And it’s really fun to do this thing on my free time.” She looks away and heads to the kitchen fuming. “And I had no choice, since …. … some things would be visible if I wore that maid uniform.”
She winced a bit thinking about those scars and stomped off to the kitchen.
He did as she said, mostly so he could think about what to do. It was obvious to realize what her chest was smaller. There was a way to make it smaller, but he really hoped she didn't do it so often.. Even if she did it properly, it was still very bad.. How to get her to at least take off the binding without coming off as someone who just wanted to strip her.
"Are you even aware of how much damage it could do to you?" He followed her, refusing to let her go on like that. "Don't care." Ruby placed his hand on her shoulder and spun her around. Grabbing her hand, he moved it toward his mouth. "Come with me or I'll bite you.. Your bite would hurt more."
Sapphire, don't do this to yourself.. I'll get down on my knees and beg if I have to..
