clinical medicine is simple, basically the way it works is 99.999% of doctors don't know anything at all, so they only treat the 10–15 most common problems in their specialty. this might sound bad, but actually it's better, because 99.999% of patients don't have any complex medical problems anyway, which we know because they've never been diagnosed with anything except the 10–15 most common problems in the relevant specialty, because in order to be evaluated for something else they would have to be referred to one of the 0.001% of doctors who occasionally know something about some other condition, but they can't get that referral because they obviously don't need it because they've only been diagnosed with simple problems that the other 99.999% of doctors evaluate. so as U can see it's really about ensuring every patient gets the best possible care.
we as a society should put more emphasis on lauding friendship the same way we do romantic love, and by that I mean I think when you have a best friend you should be able to throw a party where you wax poetic about how much you love and cherish each other and then afterwards everybody eats cake about it

there are many people on here who appead to be able to engage with social justice theories on some theoretical level, but they have never engaged with on the ground activism in real life and it shows. this is not necessarily a dooming critique just that I can notice when someone's analysis of female character who has experinced rape or domestic abuse is solely based in their understanding of feminist theory and that they have never talked to/interacted with a survior in any substantial way
The issue with trying to discuss sexual violence themes is that you frequently find yourself stuck between people who believe that the very existence of those themes in fiction is problematic and depicting it is unnecessary or shouldn't be allowed and people who believe that every depiction is too important to even acknowledge the frequent issue of intense racism and queerphobia deeply ingrained in the way they were written.
Tragically, my wife's heart suddenly stopped beating tonight.
I stood there frozen, unable to breathe as I watched her collapse before my eyes. I truly thought I was losing her forever, and I will never forgive anyone who sees this post, scrolls past it, and doesn't even support me with a single word.
Doctors said her condition is extremely critical, and that severe weakness caused this terrifying moment. Without urgent treatment, it could happen again at any time. So I am begging you can you help me get the treatment that could save my wife's life
I am begging you as a husband in Gaza, watching the love of my life suffer before my eyes while I cannot afford the treatment that could save her. Please don't wait. Donate now and help me save her life before it's too late.

💔 My Mother’s Life Depends on Your Kindness
My mother is in Gaza, where every day is a struggle to survive. Some time ago, she was injured when shrapnel from nearby shelling struck her back. She tried to endure the pain for as long as she could, but her condition has become much worse.
Today, my mother is in critical condition. She suffers from unbearable back pain, extreme exhaustion, and her suffering is increasing with every passing day.
After examining her, the doctors told us that she urgently needs emergency back surgery. They warned us that delaying the operation could lead to serious complications and further deterioration of her condition.
The cost of this life-saving surgery is $1,000.
Thanks to the kindness of generous people, we have managed to raise only $188 so far. While we are deeply grateful for every donation, we still need $812 to reach the goal.
For my family, trapped in the devastating conditions in Gaza, raising this amount alone is simply impossible. Every day we wait means more pain for my mother and more fear that her condition will become irreversible.
Iam begging you from the bottom of my heart: please help us save my mother.
Every donation no matter how small brings us closer to giving her the urgent surgery she desperately needs. And if you cannot donate, please share this post with your friends and family. Your share could reach someone who is able to help.
Please don’t let my mother’s pain continue because we couldn’t raise the remaining $812 in time.
Thank you for your kindness, your prayers, and your compassion. ❤️🙏
Hello, I'm Ahmed, 23 years old. I was studying computer science at the Islamic University in Gaza before the war. I aspired to build a brigh
Hello friends, I thank you very much for your continuous support, but right now I am in urgent need of you and your help. We are now in the holy month of Ramadan, which requires a lot of expenses, and there has been a significant rise in prices.
I also need to pursue my dream after losing everything. I need your support greatly—I need more than $1,500 to pay my university fees so I can receive my certificate and apply for scholarships.
You can find the images below the post.
Therefore, I am in great need of your help. I support my family, and at the same time, I am trying to achieve myself and continue my education.
I don’t know how many more times I can come here and ask for help. Every post I write comes with tears, because my mother’s life is all I can think about.
Yesterday, her condition became much worse , I can’t stop replaying those terrifying moments in my mind. Standing beside her hospital bed, watching her struggle, feeling completely powerless… it’s a pain I can’t put into words. The doctors told us she urgently needs this heart procedure, but we’re still waiting because we don’t have the money.😔
We’re only $600 away from the urgent heart procedure she needs. Such a small number to some people, yet for us it feels like the distance between hope and despair.💔
If your mother were the one in that hospital bed, you wouldn’t stop fighting for her not for a second. That’s exactly what I’m doing now.💔😔
If you’re reading this, please don’t close this post and move on. Be the reason I can finally look my mother in the eyes and tell her, “Mom, we’re going to make it.”
Please… don’t be another person who says, “Someone else will donate.” You could be the reason we reach our goal today. You could be the reason my mother gets the chance to receive the treatment she urgently needs. Even the smallest donation could change everything for us.
Please help us reach the last $600. Every donation brings me one step closer to saying those words to her. 💔🙏

A prison officer looked at me, looked at the men's prison I had been sent to, and eventually recognised the obvious mistake. The NSW Governm
My move to a women’s gaol happened nearly a decade ago.
But just this year, the NSW Government has quietly changed the prison regulations. That may force more trans women to suffer humiliations like mine in a male prison, and much, much worse.
The new regulation gives prison authorities broad powers to decide whether a prisoner is treated as a “male inmate” or a “female inmate” while in custody. In making that decision, they bear no responsibility to align the label they give you with your anatomy, your lived social reality, or your legal sex. What matters now are the ‘risks to the safety of the inmate or others’, the effect on the security and good order of the prisons, and any other factor the decision-maker considers relevant.
Crucially though, without having to worry about breaching the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW), prison authorities can now place trans and gender-diverse people in prisons corresponding with the sex assigned to them at birth.
Labor approved transphobia. 👍But sure, trust the soulless centrists who only show up for Mardi Gras photo ops.
All trans and gender diverse people deserve safety, dignity and equality.
But the treatment of trans and gender diverse people in prisons i
Here’s the link to write to the NSW government about this. They have an automatic script to send but if you have the time please consider personalising it as that makes a big difference.
