Open // Party On
She smiled at him from across the table. “I used to,” She said lightly. “Almost everyday after work. Then things got…complicated. I don’t have time to come around anymore.” Her smile grew as she looked around at the place. It wasn’t much, but it had been something of a refuge to her when she’d first started working at SHIELD. A couple of slices of the most underappreciated pizza in New York City always seemed to chase her stress away; at least, for a little while. “It’s great to be back. And it’s great to finally do something outside of work with a friend.” She looked back at him, her eyes bright. She could call him a friend, right? “This has been the most fun I’ve had in a long time.”
"That's a shame," Johnny said as she talked about not being able to find time to come here anymore. It seemed like a good place, one that made her relaxed and happy. Those places will always be the best. "But if its something you really like, I'm sure you'll find the time. Like right now." He said as an example. They didn't have to come here, or even hang out at all, if she was really as busy as she claimed. But she had made the time, so this must be worth it to her.
But, oh, friend. That stung. "Was I just friend zoned?" He asked her with a small smirk. Not that he woud object too much if he had been because he could be cool with friends. Just, he had thought they had a moment or two back there. But then the pizza came and the smell distracted him a little. He took a bite of his slice and was immediantly in pizza heaven. "Mmmm, this is great. I must say, Miss Hill, you have excellent taste in food."
