Little Souheki + CG Kunikida

✦ Let’s start off with age ranges! This specific request is a little backwards to how I usually see these little guys, so it’ll be a fun challenge! But definitely important to clarify. Usually I see Ranpo as a 3-6 regressor, but he needs some proper baby treatment! So for this request I’ll be writing him as 1-2! Dazai can be kept a bit closer to the age range I usually see him as, which is 1-5, but for this request I’ll be writing him as 3-6! Hehe Ranpo’s usual age range

𓍯 Kunikida as a caregiver can be rather strict. He’ll set rules and guidelines and he expects them to be followed! Then he meets his ultimate enemy. Souheki. Baby Ranpo who’s more than ready to throw a tantrum at a moments notice. Toddler Dazai who’s finding loopholes or just blatantly breaking the rules. Kunikida has his hands full that’s for sure. Sure the kids can be good. But… Most of the time they definitely aren’t. It’s more fun to act out!

⭑.ᐟ I really like the idea of Dazai struggling to voluntarily regress. He can agree it’s a good time to do it, say he wants to, and he just stresses himself out so much that he ends up sort of… Stuck. However! I think little Ranpo helps with this! Kunikida can help of course. His methods are stable and consistent. But there’s also no subtlety, to much room for Dazai to overthink. Ranpo however! He’ll just plop down in Dazai’s lap, move his own pacifier to Dazai’s mouth, and just start babbling away. He will throw a fit if he doesn’t have Dazai’s full attention

✦ Kunikida trying to keep things clean and sanitary and healthy… VS Souheki. They need a bath? It’s no easy feat… Dazai will scream and run around to avoid it. Ranpo gets in easy! But he’ll also splash water everywhere, very much so on purpose, and try to drink the bath water, and refuse to get out. Pacifier on the ground? It’s a race for Kunikida to grab it before Ranpo puts it back in his mouth. Not to mention they share oral toys all the time despite Kunikida saying it’s yucky. Don’t even get me started on the sugar these two consume… No lock can hold them back, Dazai can still pick locks, Ranpo deduces where things are. They just grab what they want. Eating vegetables is a constant war

𓍯 These two 100% have a little hidey hole set up under Kunikida’s desk. A thick blanket for cushioning, a few plushies. Kunikida will scold them for being too loud or moving to much but he’s so weak… Double puppy dog eyes PLUS Dazai going on about how they want to be close to him??? Yeah of course he’s letting them stay, are you crazy? Usually they’re fairly quiet so that’s not an issue, but they can move around quite a bit, prompting Kunikida to hand a fidget down to hopefully regulate them. It’s somewhat effective

⭑.ᐟ I don’t think little Ranpo talks much. Not because he can’t or he’s not comfortable or anything like that. He just doesn’t want to And he likes watching people struggle to know what he wants. Dazai has the uncanny ability to just know what his little brother wants. But Kunikida has to try a bit harder. He’ll make up communication cards and teach Ranpo some basic sign language. All sorts of things to help him communicate! Ranpo mostly cooperates, it makes him feel really nice that Kunikida puts in so much effort

✦ I think the littles spend a lot of their time complaining about Kunikida. He’s so strict! No fun! But it’s all lighthearted. There’s moments that prove it. When they’re sleepy, even if Kunikida’s across the room they’ll make their way to him to rest their head on his shoulder. If anything’s upsetting them all they want is to cling to the blond. Any tumbles that result in boo-boos have them going to Kunikida cause he’s the best at patching them up and making them feel better

𓍯 RIGHT. PET NAMES. I’D OBVIOUSLY NEVER FORGET THAT. I think Kunikida uses pet names pretty rarely though. A large majority of the time he’ll just call the little ones by their names. But nicknames are still used on occasion! Ranpo will be called “Little One” and “Honey” while Dazai will be called things like “Kid” and “Little Brat”, said affectionately of course. Ranpo doesn’t like talking so he’ll either point to Kunikida or tug on his sleeve. Dazai will call him “Kuni” or “Mama”! “Mama” is mainly a joke because he found Kunikida’s confusion hilarious so now it’s one of his most used titles for his caregiver
