Hi Cafe Enchante fans! I played Rindoβs route and I did not like the endingβ¦ so I wrote a different ending!

This fanfic begins right after Mikado tells Rindo and Kotone about the truth of what happened to Shizuku while they climb the staircase.
When we reached the rooftop, there stood Mikado and Shizuku. βNow do you understand why I am doing this? To avenge Shizuku. She didnβt deserve this fate. β I will make them pay for what theyβve done.β Exclaimed Mikado. βI understand how you feel, I want her back as much as you do, but this is not the way Mikado, and you know itβ said Rindo. βWhat other choice do I have?β Pleaded Mikado.
Mikado took a look at Rindo βI see the Metaplasia worked β Iβm so glad you survived and kept your sanity as wellβ¦ I incorporated some of Shizukuβs blood in hopes that it would dim the effects. Iβm so relieved, truly. The reason you were able to keep your sanity is because your hope to survive was stronger than your fear of deathβ. His words struck me as I peeked over at Rindo. βHope kept him saneβ¦β I thought to myself.
βMikadoβ¦ maybe thereβs another way for you to get Shizuku back?β I interjected as Mikado directed his attention towards me. βHow do you mean?β He inquired. βIf hope saved Rindo.. maybe it can save Shizuku too?β βImpossibleβ¦ itβs only if she had hope DURING the transformation. This is the only wayβ¦ Shizuku must feed until she is satisfied.β βDo you really know that for sure? Has anyone ever tried? Shizuku may NEVER be satisfied and youβre sacrificing so many livesβ¦ It couldnβt hurt to try?β. Mikado stared back at Shizuku and back at me. βYou may be right about thatβ¦ as a scientist, I must try everythingβ¦ and I would do ANYTHING for Shizukuβ. Mikado approached Shizuku meekly with a slight melancholy in his expression. βShizukuβ¦ my darlingβ¦. Can you hear me in there? Do you understand me?β ββ¦β¦β¦Aβ¦β¦Akiβ¦.Akiraβ¦β. Shizuku muttered as Mikado gasped. βYes my loveβ¦ itβs meβ¦ Akira. And thatβs your brother Kauru over there. He was also turned into a non-human with Metaplasiaβ¦ but he kept saneβ¦ with hope and determination to survive. I believeβ¦ thereβs a way you can too. I know the past 7 years have been so terrifying and difficultβ¦ But if Rindo can keep his sanityβ¦ maybe you can too.β He stared at Shizuku β tears in his eyes. ββ¦β¦β¦..Aβ¦β¦β¦.Aki..raβ¦.loβ¦veβ¦β¦.Aki..raβ. Shizuku mumbled. Mikado gasped and tears spilled down his face. Mikado moved closer to Shizuku β arms reaching out to her. βStop!! Mikado!! Youβll be hexed!!β Cried Rindo. Mikado ignored his cries and embraced Shizuku. βAβ¦.AAAAH!!!!β Mikado cried in agony yet he clung tighter to Shizuku as his tears kept falling. βIβ¦.ah! Do..nβtβ¦careβ¦.gyahβ¦how muchβ¦ thisβ¦ h..urtsβ¦ I just want toβ¦ beβ¦ gahβ¦ closeβ¦to youβ¦.againβ¦.AHHHH!!!β I couldnβt hold back my tears and all I could do was watch. βD..doβ¦youβ¦reβ¦member..gah!β¦ah!β¦this feelingβ¦.Shizukuβ¦?β Mikado whispered. βPleaseβ¦co..meβ¦backβ¦β¦to meβ¦.my loveβ¦.β Mikado could no longer stand the pain and collapsed onto the ground.
Rindo and I gasped at the sight ready to run to his sideβ¦ but just thenβ¦ Shizuku leaned downβ¦ and embraced the unconscious Mikado β enveloping him completely. βAkiβ¦raβ¦.. wantβ¦. L..iveβ¦.wi..thβ¦ Aki..raβ¦β A light shone from Shizukuβs bodyβ¦ a blinding light. I had to shut my eyes. When the light finally dimmedβ¦ Shizuku was no longer embracing Mikadoβ¦ a young woman with white ears and a fluffy tail was in her place. All of the reddish black shadows were nowhere in sightβ¦ and many men and women in GPM attire appeared out of nowhere. ββ¦..Waitβ¦could it be..?β Gasped Rindo. He ran to the womanβs side. βShizuku!!β The woman turned to face Rindo. βKauru..β Still embracing Mikado she turned her attention back to him, and stroked his sleeping face. βOh Akiraβ¦ Iβm so sorryβ¦ please please wake upβ¦β
Canus, Ignis, Il and Msyr appeared. Everyone stared at the embracing couple in silence.
βPleaseβ¦ wake up my love.β
ββ¦.Shiβ¦zuβ¦β¦.kuβ¦?β Mikado grumbled groggily as he slowly opened his eyes. βYesβ¦ yes itβs me my loveβ¦. Iβm right here..β Shizuku cried as she cradled his head and stroked his face.
Misyr leaned in to whisper something to me βSo yeah Iβm going to need a rundown on what just happenedβ. I quickly wiped my own tears and gave Misyr a rundown of everything as the other Enchante regulars listened in. βWowβ¦ canβt believe that actually workedβ said Ignis. βSo whatβs with all these GPM members up here?β Asked Misyr. βIβ¦ Iβm not sureβ¦ they just appeared out of nowhere after Shizuku transformed back into a human β well, a stable non-human.β Canus gasped ββ¦could it be?β βI think soβ¦ it sure is a miracle thoughβ¦ a true phenomenonβ Misyr marvelled. βWhat? What is it?β I asked. βIt appears these are the people that non-human Shizuku gobbled upβ¦ unscathed as wellβ¦β said Canus. My jaw dropped.
Msyr walked over to a woman in GPM attire. βExcuse me miss. Do you remember anything previous to this moment right now?β Misyr asked. βNot a thing.β she exclaimed while looking around groggily and scratching her head. βPerfect, perfect.β Msyr replied. βWhat do you mean?β The woman asked. βOh, nothing.β Said Msyr.
Misyr returned to our group. βOk, looks like we may be able to fix this mess.β Misyr waved his hands and before I knew it, we had all transported to Enchante β including Shizuku and Mikado.
βWhat did you do Msyr?β I asked. βLetβs just say, I put everything back in itβs rightful place.β I tilted my head at him as he chuckled.
We all returned our attention back to Shizuku and Mikado. βI canβt believe Shizuku really turned back into a humanβ¦wellβ¦ a stable non-human I supposeβ.
Rindo leaned in close to me βthank youβ. βHuh? Wait.. for what?β I asked. βI never thought I would get my sister back, and I certainly didnβt think I would have survived that hexβ¦ itβs all thanks to you Kotone.β I blushed βOh I didnβt really do anything..β βBut you did, none of us would be here right now without you.β Rindo uttered to me. Shizuku stared at me with a soft yet sincere gaze βHeβs rightβ¦ thank you.. thank you so much Awaki.β
βSooooβ¦ what now? Do Mikado and Shizuku have to likeβ¦hide from the law now?β Said Ignis. Misyr interjected βWell, no. No one remembers anything that happened from the great Shizuku massacre β thanks to Shizukuβs transformation and a little bit of my magic sprinkled in. But I do assume the Rindo siblings cannot or do not want to assume their positions at the GPM due to their being non-human now. Mikado may not want to return either due to everything he encountered and experienced there.β Everyone turned their eyes towards Shizuku and Mikado. βEh heh hehβ¦ I suppose not.β Mikado chuckled half-heartedly. βWell, letβs worry about that tomorrow, tonight, we celebrate!β I exclaimed. And so we celebrated the return of Shizuku as Mikado and Rindo caught up with her.
In the end, Rindo, Mikado, and Shizuku opted not to return to the GPM. Mikado exposed his department for their inhumane practices β the department was disbanded and all members were arrested. Rindo decided to move in with me and help run the cafe. As for Shizuku and Mikadoβ¦ well, they decided to buy a house near Enchante, so they could visit everyday. Mikado had saved up enough money to have the two of them set for the rest of their lives. And we had a beautiful little marriage ceremony for them at the cafe.

I want them to get a happy ending as well!
