Enrique didnāt want to spend his afternoon with a strangerās son, but Uberta had donated a lot of money to his campaign two years ago. Something about being an old friend of his dadās and thinking his face wasĀ āadorableā. Her son was apparently fascinated with politics and it would go against his duty to the next generation.
He recognized the man from Ubertaās description. A better looking Chace Crawford. He smiled at him.Ā
āHello, I am Enrique Reynaldo. Nice to see you,ā he said. He shook his hand.Ā āDerek right? Your mom told me you wanted to talk to me about joining the town hall one day.ā
Derek stood slack-jawed for a moment. The mayor. His mom set him up with the freaking mayor. She always talked about him marrying well but, seriously? The mayor? Derek shook his head. Why did he expect anything less? Well, at least he was handsome.Ā
āThat sounds like her,ā Derek said, putting on a smile. He would at least try to make the best of it. Heād never hear the end of it if he blew things with the Enrique. Every election would make his mother go on a rant aboutĀ āwhat could have beenā and how heādĀ āruined his futureā. Derek had been down that road before and it was not a pleasant stroll.Ā āYou wanna go inside? Itās a lot more private. And I hear they have excellent venison.āĀ
