“You’ve gotta go down to come up” This is a quote I saw today that I really liked.In this pic I’m on the left,and I’m finishing my first college race ever.I ended up winning and crossing the finish line with the fastest girl on my team who I really never thought I would be able to keep up with.I often think back to this race and to this day.I am still impressed and proud of myself for having such a successful debut.Since then,things have gotten pretty rocky and now I’ve started running again after being out for 2 months with patellar tendinitis.I know this journey back to where I want to be won’t be pretty,but I know for a fact that I will rise again.I will come up and be healthier and stronger than I ever was.I am still the girl in this picture with that same fierce mindset and determination to pass the competition.This injury has taught me so much about myself and now I am hungrier than ever.

There is gratitude in every stride in every labored breath in every tangle in my hair from the wind in sore hamstrings in every single morning I can wake up and say let’s go for a run
