I am married, have two children, a house and tons of other financial responsibilities that all get in the way of healthy living. Many healthy food options, gym memberships, classes and physical training are mostly out of reach on our budget. There are just not extra funds for this. I know I am not alone. Having worked in a gym it was something I heard over and over again; "I just can't afford THAT". So I am going to try and show you how to live healthy without paying the price tag. 1. CHOOSE FOODS WISELY Plan your meals to have simple ingredients. If a recipe has more ingredients you have to buy than are in your pantry don't choose it. My basic meals include a starch (if you are having one that meal), a healthy protein, vegetables and a healthy fat. 2. A FREE WORKOUT YOU WILL DO Honestly when you are just trying to become more healthy or lose some weight it doesn't matter what exercise you do as long as you do it most days of the week. Go for a walk, a hike, a bike ride. If you have equipment look up some simple workouts using them. Use YouTube workouts. Just get moving. 3. STAY CONSISTENT If you choose foods wisely and eat well 90% of the time and do your workouts daily you will reach the goal of being more healthy and you will lose weight. Your body will slowly change. You just have to keep doing it. Day in and day out. You will see a change. After my first child I followed these three ingredients for about 18 months; not spending money, nothing fancy, no gimmicks, just me. I was able to go from 322 to 220! 100 pounds. I was the skinniest and healthiest I have been my whole life and felt amazing! Then we dreamed of another baby, we got pregnant and I miscarried. I was devastated and depressed and I turned to food and gained 30 pounds. I didn't focus on getting back on track with my goals I was more worried about getting pregnant again. And we did get pregnant and we ended up with a healthy little boy. However, I gained another 50 pounds. I became even more hungry from nursing and gained another 35 pounds. I am currently at 315. So I hope this blog will help give me a start to losing the next 100 pounds and help you do it too!
