I think tumblr might have eaten my ask, got a weird notification, so I'm resending, sorry if you get this twice:

Hellooooooo I got a big tank (160 gallons!!!) And have not decided what to put in it, so I'm reaching out to the internet! Here's the tank:

Image ID: an empty 160 gallon glass aquarium, approximately 2.5 feet tall, 3.5 feet wide, and 2 feet deep, on a wooden stand. The tank is outside, with a camping chair perched on top for scale. End ID.

I'm researching, don't worry, I'm not about to fill it up and sentence some fish to certain death with inadequate filtration or anything but I'm just... More motivated when I have a goal, you know? So. I got this tank for free, it is basically a windfall, and it's functional and came with a biofiltration tank and sump (goes in the stand), and I just... Need stocking suggestions, basically. What is possible? What would be fun? I'm so excited.

If it was me, I would put some fancy goldfish in that bad boy. That's basically my dream tank, you could easily fit 8 or more depending on the type, no need for heater. Do a super basic hardscape and throw some moss balls in there and you'd be good to go! Clean and gorgeous.

That is a very good suggestion, thank you!! I may do goldfish, but some kind of a school of smaller fish is more appealing to me? Discus are well loved but I don't really like how they look. So who knows!! It's gonna be very fun no matter what it turns out as. Thanks for getting back to me

A large school of tetras or something like that would indeed be very cool (I am partial to rummynose tetras because they look cool and have a funny name). Especially if you want to plant it, I imagine that would look quite stunning. Good luck the your tank, I hope to see an update once you decide what to do with it!
