cumplane idea: SY and SQH knew each other in middle/high school. SY was under the impression that the two of them were friends, up until SQH gets in a shouting match with him and reveals that No They Were Not?? SY bullied him constantly, never had a nice word to say to him, was always smacking him around, and so on. SQH moves away shortly after this (due to his parents divorcing) and they loose contact. The incident lives on in SYs heart as THE shameful thing that keeps him up in the middle of the night, and so he tried to mend his ways. He becomes a perfectly polite, upstanding young man -- in person. He still has those tendencies but if he only ever expresses them online it's fine, right? (In the spirit of middle school relationships being complicated, SY wasn't JUST a bully, he was also more or less SQHs only friend, and SQH too is sometimes kept up at night by the things he said before he left.)
