The thing is is that this fandom focuses way way way more on things like words and titles instead of actions and material conditions and thatās why most people analysis is very bad
People who blame Daenerys at all for what happened to the Lhazareen that Drogoās Khalasar attacked are some of the worst people in the fandom. Transparently working backwards from their forgone conclusion that Daenerys is a villain and then twisting events in the series to fit that outcome. Literally how the fuck is the 14 year old sold to a war lord responsible at all for him doing warlord things? Because in this specific instance heās doing the shit he was 100% always gonna do anyway āfor herā (literally explicitly stated to be for their unborn son, as a response to an assassin, she never once was able to sway him or his actions regarding Westeros one way or the other, in any capacity, at all)?
Just the most transparently bad faith interpretation of events possible, I fully cannot take anything said after that seriously.

Maybe Iāve just curated my experience better but I think in the 5 years since the end of the show, far less people are adamant about Daenerys getting the show ending. I mean the usually suspects are still doing it, but it seems like more people are aware of how it just wouldnāt work with the story we have been given. Actually the fact that people hate Daenerys, specifically, so fucking much that they created an entire lens with which to view all of ASOIAF *and* its supplementary material, as in mentally warping canon to fit their own delusions, subbing their own headcanons for things that happen in the books, basing their entire interpretation of events from the idea that the Targs are uniquely evil (instead of just normal nobility levels of evil who have more power than the rest bc of dragons) and all the other nobles are poor little meow meows (and not *also* a bunch of power hungry and ambitious aristocrats who got their power via violent conquest and are capable of extreme cruelty, but with less power bc of no dragons), etc only for them to be having meltdowns now because of the ābiasā of HOTD (a show that has more involvement from GRRM than half of GOT did btw, which he famously had no involvement in past season 4) is extremely funny.
Like itās just so funny āHOTD is biased! Theyre making the greens look bad!ā Babes itās ok to admit that you interpreted the text poorly! The more you double down the harder the writers are gonna have to bludgeon you with the point until you actually get it!

Genuinely the brains of people who argue that the reason D&D didnāt adapt AFFC and ADWD properly was because they were full of new characters and plots that āwerenāt relevantā.
Do you think perhaps that those plots and characters are relevant as set up for the final two books? Like are you seriously arguing the relevance of something that literally *canāt* have had payoff because the series itself is incomplete? Maybe perhaps those books introduce ideas that are going to be literally crucial to the endgame of the series? That might make the endgame make sense? That may have even helped D&D come up with better fanfic to end the series on?
I mean Jesus Christ how are people going to call something irrelevant when there is literally no way for their to be payoff yet. Yāall just gonna assume that *if* George finishes the series none of the stuff introduced will be like important or mentioned or anything? Lmao
