Confession
Listen here, numerous high-profile people committed suicide this week.Â
It is a stark reminder for those of us who struggle that no matter what we do in life, we will still always struggle. It is a reminder for us to work on ourselves, because it doesnât matter our external circumstances or fulfillment. Itâs not about happiness, donât worry about that, itâs about how we feel about ourselves. If we cannot figure out ways that help us dig ourselves out of our personal demon pits (aka depression) then we will lose the fight.Â
It is a fight, itâs a fight every. Damn. Day.Â
This WEEK IÂ felt the urge. Not because of the media, just because I felt I was at the bottom of the pit, and I couldnât see the light. I felt helpless and powerless and I just couldnât imagine my life being any better.Â
And hereâs the thing people, this came after Months of good days.Â
But, I have developed many personal tricks to stop myself, and I used those and the urge passed. If you donât have tricks or ways to help you climb out of the pit I strongly suggest that you begin working on developing ways to climb out. Practice loving yourself, tell yourself you love yourself, this one is SO SO SO difficult for me but it has helped. Forgive yourself, often, it helps much more than youâd think. Take time for yourself. Remind yourself that the way other people feel about you doesnât matter, how you feel about yourself matters. These are basic, but if youâre starting from square one they are great options.
Itâs hard, itâs hella hard, but Iâm still here fighting, and I want you to still be here too.Â
Oh and AVOID depression naps!! They are purely a trap! But do get enough sleep and drink water and eat food that makes you feel good.
My DMs are open if you want to chat. Iâm not an expert or professional but if youâd like an ear itâs here.
