Um heya Rowland! Nice to meet you! I have a question. Do you think it's possible for someone with my body to get better at melee fighting? It's embarrassing but I don't actually know how to use the sword I'm always carrying. Or any swords. A pirate taught me how to shoot a gun but the recoil is hard to deal with...

But to start I've been trying to get better with an athame for emergencies! Been practising with my shadow sentinel so I don't have to worry about harming anyone but my cuts seem to shallow and my aim is all off. Starting to fear it might be impossible.

I'm also fast, especially when I use storm magic to speed up my legs, but actually dodging is a lot harder than I thought. Which is a problem since without a dueling circle a direct hit would be really bad! Any tips for getting better?

That being said, I struggle to see one of your size wield a blade like mine. Something smaller, easier to fit within your center of mass. Overextending with larger weapons only leads to a lack of balance when it is needed the most. In the absolute worst of cases, your fists may be your only salvation.

Bouffon studieux, my stock goes only to the worthy that prove their might in the Arena against their peers or better.

Many believe themselves to be unworthy of such a test of strength but their doubts are the exact reason why they do not even try. It is in a true battle where one knows the farthest reaches of their resolve.

There is no advice for "doing well" in the Arena, apart of rigorous training beforehand. Even so, I have seen the most prepared fall because of their ego or lackthereof.

Remain true to yourself and you shall succeed where others fail. If you are determined to reach the top, you shall one day.

I was thinking, if you have the time, I could show you my home. Walk the neighborhood, visit some old shops. Have a change of scenery for a little while. Get away from the day-to-day.
