This will happen much further down the line than what is currently written, and is already my banner because goddayum am I proud of it.

As it is the current point in the timeline he's still a very young boy going through trauma and developing powers. Like his nearly trademark shapeshifting.

He currently really likes being a winged wolf the size of a lion. Or the size of a hippo when facing humans.

Or the size of an entire fucking African bush elephant when pissed off.

But he's also still a Noot, and even more: he is very, very dramatic. Absolute drama queen. A theater kid in the 12th century, that's what he gets from reading all those books as a child.

Unfortunately as something wholly unkillable that means he's a violent theater kid when pissed off.

And unfortunately for one king somewhere in Scotland before it even consolidated into Scotland, he is a very murderous drama queen.

Which is its own trauma on his psyche. He's still mentally quite close to his pre Apple Incident self, trying to rationalize his own actions as he steadily becomes more like the Corrupt we know and love. In the end he's going to become far more eldritch than even that, hence the name.

He is a living tragedy, he is beyond gods, he is something else entirely and that doesn't exactly come with a manual.

That said, the pantheon is quite neat. Ties things together nicely, even if the canonical history of the story is entirely different from this lore. No, the religion is just how the piglins decided to explain things when Cross ran out of answers to give them. The natural conclusion for them was deities.

The very first of all their gods is of death, a jealous and vengeful god that is also full of guilt, Desdemon. Somehow, their depiction of this ancient god has an uncanny resemblance to Ancient Withers. They logically should have no memory whatsoever of those things, yet here he is, made of soul sand, black bones, a real cloud of steam instead of something darker, and spidery legs that might actually be something closer to the serpentine ribs those Withers had.

There are still details absent from the reality of the Withers, but yes, it's rather uncanny.

But that's just the first. The second is the one I warned you about, the AllMother, Sowbearer, Netheria, her Royal Nakedness.

She's literally a pig/hog taur. With what's supposed to be crimson bark skin, but I haven't fully figured out how to draw that crap. Regrettably. And yes, she has a tusk ring even though that's not possible. She's not real, she's a holy figure. As ironic as it is, piglins are largely matriarchal despite being led by Cross and Epic, both dudes. Netheria is a reflection of that, being the queen of the gods.

In all honesty, she and Desdemon are actually closer to primordials in their lore, and as things develop the immediate children between them will take on roles closer to titans than gods. The "real gods" will actually be based on real people they see as beyond mortals, but that's a conversation for another day.

But the two deities had three children: a son, the middle child, and a daughter. And yes, I just say middle child because that god is in fact genderfluid. The pronouns/gender changes depending on what aspect of them you're talking about, and if it's the god as a whole you just use they/them.

Anyway, the first son was Auroric, the bringer of gold, glowstone and basalt as well as the creator of striders. He is both a warrior and agricultural god, he who waters fields with the blood of his enemies, but is gentle as the softest silk to those that are his. He has two forms, the upright and armored warrior, and the quadrupedal and gentle hog. A bit of a twist, as you'd rather think the giant hog would be for battle but no.

He also has strider silk hairs made out of golden light because he's just cool like that.

Ghastail is the most enigmatic of the gods, being feminine when referred to for the gifts of untold strength, justice and wisdom. She is the bringer of obsidian, blackstone and netherite, with the purple fluid they call obi tears literally their blood and tears. He gifted great, towering labyrinths to cage the dark skeletal warriors as the blazes kept them in check, and is still male when referring to this architect and scholarly side. Ghastail is wise with a silent strength.

They take the traits of the most enigmatic mobs of the Nether, the ghasts and the endermen. Thus, they have a bunch of ghast tentacles as tails, hence the name.

But Magmifye is the youngest and also my favorite. She is everything fiery and passion. She is lava itself, needing a chestplate of netherite to hold a shape and royal striders to emerge onto land. She is the creator of magma cubes and blazes, having aspects of the mobs herself. She is beloved because she is of the heart, the goddess of smithing, cooking, and art. Passion incarnate, the one who gifted spice. Funnily enough, she's analogous to a lot of mythology of the sea, and has aspects in common with mythological Loki.

Sometimes she has arms encased in netherite, and sometimes she just has floating hands made of lava like the molten rods.

So! Starting off, I did in fact design the Nether dragons. All dragon types are unique and distinct from each other, all products of their own dimensions. Not to mention the variety the individuals of each race can come in. Even the ender dragons are more colorful as a species overall than the one individual you see in canon.

For example, this right here is a lady. You can tell because she has a nasal horn instead of a chin spike, and her horns curl below her ears, not above. Another fun detail is in this lore, Netherborn creatures typically have 6 limbs with 6 digits each, making it rather complex! However it also allows for unique combinations such as the hands on the wings that Nether dragons have. Another fun fact! That crocodilian tail? It's actually two flat tails held together that split apart with a membrane between them for flight. The rest of the time they serve their purpose for swimming in lava.

And now for another spoiler! This one involves piglins!

It has been mentioned in passing that Cross generally has plans to bring a few 'lins to the Overworld and see how things go, even if there's.. been a wrench thrown into those plans. It's still going to happen! And of course, over time in the Overworld, piglins immune to zombification develop fur!

As such, there are half a dozen different piglins that for reasons become known as the Acolytes to the rest.

The first of them is Rubble. He's just a silly guy. Has excellent style with jewelry before he had to put on warm clothes, but he's still managing!

The next is Ember, who's actually his aunt!

And her bestie, Flare! Who is just.. well. You see.

Gorgeous.

But Flare has a cousin who's possibly one of the largest piglins ever yet still a gentle giant! Lovable lad, despite being named Dagger. He has a fondness for weaving, and also becomes one of the fluffiest of the piglins.

Being so shy and large, he is actually very close friends to the otherwise unapproachable and intimidating Goldeneye, who is literally just as much of an introvert as he is except he's a tall as fuck twink of a piglin. He also has a remarkably long tail for some reason. His eyes are piercing yellow, hence his name. (I failed to draw it properly, which I'm still malding about.)

He also has an older sister who's ironically on the short side for a piglin, so she's mistaken for the younger one all the time. Ash doesn't mind, though!

Grilby just looks awesome though.

And now, some extra tidbits that are slightly older! Like Epic in his new fit! I drew this much earlier and hadn't fully worked out his final coloration with fur. He's mostly colored like a regular hoglin without fur in this one.

This one for Dream is also older! Hasn't even occurred in the fic yet, not to mention I might even redesign it again. Still, it's worth sharing!

And I can't forget these cuties, Muffet and her Cupcake.

Speaking of which, at this point everyone knows that's what Nightmare is at this point. What you don't know is that canonically the dragon is a girl named Jean. Nightmare is not a girl. I've decided that ALL dragons have sexual dimorphism. As a male ender dragon, he wasn't even black.

He was silver.

And of course, whether or not it wants to, when the sculk infects something, it drastically alters its biology.

He's actually even bigger than before.

As you've probably noticed, Ink is still undergoing this process of changing. In many ways it's even more drastic in his case.

He'll end up a dragon himself at some point.

And then Blue.

Ironically has that Mom look.

And Error is finally pretty.

The other bros are.. okay.

And now the Remnant Himself, Reaper!

Absolutely gigantic and majestic.

And he can do such neat tricks with his Star.

Life is also quite impressive!

Though her tricks look far prettier.
