This image depicts is one of the greatest personalities of the Hungarian Renaissance, Cardinal Vitez Janos, the uncle of King Matthias. He is having figures from the tarot painted on the wall of his palace by the Italian painter Alberti: the High priestess, Temperance, Strength, Justice and Judgement. The subject matter of these paintings is directed towards King Matthias who waged too many wars against his European neighbours and did not defend himself sufficiently against the danger from Turkey. Matthias did not want to understand the message of the wise Cardinal.

Up right.

A lesser inheritance than was expected. A poor marriage. Ascetic abstention from simple pleasures. The character of a frustrated inventor. The chalices of luck have been knocked over. Peace makes way unease. The fear of losing all. Melancholy and disappointment. However there is a route out of the bad luck, provided that one looks for a solution. One must reshape one’s life and if that is successful then all is not lost!

Unhappiness that paralyse us into inactivity. Stress and fear that flood over us unforeseen.
