I draw using an iPad A16 (2025), first gen Apple Pencil & Procreate (all those are perfectly fine for my level of use by the way. Okay?). I use a Wacom Bamboo CTH-670 (&OpenTabletDriver) for my MSPaint drawings. My drawing setup looks like this.
I mostly use default Procreate brushes (Sanderling, Swansea, Wide Awake) or this mspaint brush pack I found. Or the genuine Microsoft Paint pencil.
Hey I have a question. Why do you never color in the skin in your drawings why are all of them like #FFFFFF white

Route 0 + Second Scenario + SF + Goodbye Eito spoilers.
So, right near the end of route 0, Eito reveals he has a cognitive disorder. His disorder makes humans look, sound, feel, taste, and smell absolutely disgusting and nauseating.
I don't think this would be a cognitive disorder, though. I feel like the only reason it's called a cognitive disorder is because Fuminori Sakisaka in Saya no Uta also has a very similar disorder, which he calls a cognitive disorder. (Though, Eito's disorder is only towards humans, and he's had it since birth; Fuminori experiences an altered worldview for everything and everyone besides the titular Saya, and he only gets it after being in a traumatizing car crash).
Firstly, cognitive disorders are more accurately referred to as neurocognitive disorders. These affect cognitive skills, naturally. Some examples of cognitive skills are: reading, (critical) thinking, mental math, or anything that involves using your brain. I wouldn't say Eito struggles with any of these, though?! He's a huge reader, pretty intelligent, and did that balloon thing in Steady-Fundamental. When we get a look inside his noggin in Route 0 + Goodbye Eito, he doesn't struggle with thinking or language. He doesn't have memory issues.
Secondly, cognitive disorders are acquired later in life, often way later in life (major cognitive disorder is also known as dementia). It is not possible to have one since birth.
So, okay. Let's armchair diagnose him!!! If he had a real world diagnosis, what would he actually have?
Firstly: it's not prosopometamorphopsia/demon face syndrome. While demon face syndrome does make people have scary faces:
it's only restricted to one's face;
it's acquired and not congenital;
these are only visual hallucinations (not auditorial or olfactory etc);
partial or full recovery is often achieved (see 3.3.5) (though this may be weaker evidence since 13% of people do not recover and 19% have their outcome unmentioned...)
...so, I don't think it's accurate to say he would have demon face syndrome.
I've heard about Alice in Wonderland syndrome but I don't think he would have it, either. It seems to be caused by migraines or infections (so acquired again). People who have Alice in Wonderland syndrome describe having "episodes," but for Eito, his vision never returns to normal. AIWS often affects body image (more like, seeing his body distort in odd ways) but Eito's disorder does not affect him at all. He's like, I'm the only fucking normal person here!
One of the closest disorders I can think of IRT what Eito might have is childhood schizophrenia. Eito has some negative symptoms of schizophrenia, namely asociality, apathy, and anhedonia. His delusions (I mean, his righteous eyes) and hallucinations fit right in with the symptoms of schizophrenia as well.
But of course, it's basically unheard of to have congenital schizophrenia. Schizophrenia under 13 is already very rare. Most people who have schizophrenia also have impaired cognitive skills... but as I said previously, Eito's cognitive disorder isn't really a cognitive disorder.
I've seen people say Eito could have schizotypal personality disorder, and this is another really close one but it runs into similar issues which I have outlined above numerous times.
I could go on and on about different kinds of mental disorders (I'd love to!), but he wouldn't have any of them. Because his disorder is fictional. And he's also fictional. I would not say Eito is schizophrenic, even though he has a lot of the traits, because he doesn't have anything because he is not real.
Anyway, armchair diagnosing Eito Aotsuki isn't the true point of this post. This brings me to my next section.
Autism and Eito Aotsuki: The Point of This Post
I don't think Eito is autistic. I've said this many times and I will say it again for clarification. His autistic symptoms are moreso because he cannot bear to look at other humans because they're so fucking ugly.
However. I want to bring this up anyway. As You May Know (or might have guessed. Whatever), I'm autistic. I grew up as autistic without being diagnosed until finally being diagnosed at the age of 18.
I relate a lot to Eito. When I was younger I used to think I was better than the other kids. I read a lot, and I refused to interact with my peers out of disinterest. Often, when I tried to talk to them, they'd just stare at me like I was fucking crazy for even trying to talk to them. In general I have never been good at socializing so when he mentioned he wasn't good with people on like Day 001 I was like...I know what you mean, dude. I didn't spend my childhood in a hospital but my disorder did affect my socialization significantly.
So I get it. I get Eito. I know what it feels like to have people not know what the hell is wrong with you and be chastised for a disorder you cannot control. And I know what it's like to pretend to like people when really you want to blow up everyone in the same room as you (plus yourself). I don't think I could do that for 100 whole days, though. I'd start losing my mind on Day 7. Or, well, I guess Eito only did it for 95 days. I believe they call that "autistic burnout..." ehhh...no.
Despite Eito literally being an Evil Murderer Who Murders People, I ended up finding him very sympathetic. One of my favorite moments in Second Scenario is when he finds out that his disorder had nothing to do with his "righteous eyes" and was literally just a glitch in the system. This resonated a lot with me. Mapping this onto autism specifically --- nobody is autistic for a Grander Purpose; they're just born autistic.
Honestly, it sucks. I didn't sign up to be disabled from birth and neither did Eito. I'd like to see the world from a non-autistic perspective... like how Eito wants to see the world from a non-disordered perspective in Steady-Fundemental/Mystery...LOL. (When he gets "cured," though, it's honestly kind of terrifying. They straight up lobotomized him. What did they do to him? Who The Hell Is That?!)
Essentially what I'm saying is
His disorder isn't real but his affect on me is real. In fact, it's perfect that his disorder is completely fictionalized, so not just autistic people but disabled people in general can deeply relate to his story. (A bonus is that a fictional disorder can't offend anyone who has it.)
I love him. He's great. I could go on and on about this but I think this post is already too long so I will just leave it at that. Thanks for reading. Did you like my post? Rate 1-10 did you like it? ...Just kidding, don't do that.
Hi. You may or may not know that I used to do block coding a lot when I was younger. I've moved on to web design in recent months, I guess. I'm currently designing my own website. The site is currently live, but it looks like shit because I'm still working on it.
As proof I'm working on it, here's a current WIP screenshot of the new layout:
As you can see, the layout is pretty much finished, I just have to make more pages.
Also, it works on different screen sizes.
It even works on mobile.
It's good to have a website that works on mobile because a lot of websites on neocities do not work on mobile, because the webmasters of those sites hate disabled people. ...Juust kidding, but it's very easy to make a site responsive (aka work on different resolutions), so I don't know why people need to sacrifice their aesthetic for accessibility.
Well, a lot of sites that don't work on mobile are ugly anyway, so maybe they're doing mobile users a favor this way.
Things I plan on adding to the site
You can see what I kinda have planned in the sidebar. The most important thing is the "UTAU" page, which hasn't been created yet --- but will be! That's right. I'm really doing it. I'm making my own UTAU. The character on the sidebar is my UTAU, by the way. Do you like them?!
When I make a blog, I'll probably include the option to leave comments! You need to have a Neocities Supporter account OR an account made before 2022 to do this the easy way, but luckily I have both of those so I should have no issue.
Another big thing I want to add is something that displays a random Vocaloid song, from my list of favorite Vocaloid songs. I'm constantly adding to it, so I don't want to have to update both the list and my website each time I try to reference it.
I want to add a form to my Contact page, so people who are too scared to contact me via any other method can do that.
I've been thinking about creating my own webring! What theme will it be centered around? That's a surprise...
There's a bunch of other things I'd like to do, but I keep forgetting about them.....I have as many ideas as I remember saved in a .txt folder.
I will not add dark mode. Sorry. I don't want to.
Future Improvements
I don't know, the status.cafe widget looks kinda ugly on the sidebar...I might move it to the main page stuff.
If you're curious, this is the status.cafe widget, and this is status.cafe.
Inspiration
My website's layout is mainly inspired by minimalism. I like minimalism.
jb's site and nomnomnami's site also heavily inspired my website. These are probably my favorite website designs ATM. In fact, the font I'm using is the same font used on jb's site (Inter).
The avatar idea was taken from a layout I used to use (01).
The time shown on the sidebar is accurate to my timezone and updates every second. I stole the code from here.
The Main Thing I've Been Doing, Though
Mainly, I've been trying to figure out how 11ty* (a static site generator, SSG) works, and trying to apply it to my site. It's not going well. I mean, better than before, sure, but it's still kinda esoteric to me. It's supposed to make things easier but it's been really hard for me...but I'm sure it'll all be worth it in the end ---I'll have learned something new.
See, I got so frustrated at 11ty that I designed the whole website layout so I could avoid having to do it. But now I'm pretty much done with the layout and have to figure out 11ty again. Whatever. It's fine.
That's why I haven't created the other pages yet (I added the link to About but it doesn't work since there's no page there). Because I want 11ty to do that part for me. Putting it that way, it sounds like I'm getting AI to generate a website for me. I'm not, by the way. All of this was handtyped lovingly by me and 11ty doesn't involve AI. And I'm pretty against AI as an artist and writer and someone with basic respect for other artists and writers.
...Well. Anyway. That's what I've been doing! If I've made enough progress with 11ty, I may share more information in the near future...stay tuned...or don't. I don't care. Was this coherent at all? I don't know. Rate this 1-10?
*Note: Apparently, it's actually spelled eleventy unless you're talking about the organization. What the fuck, man? I don't even care. I'm still going to use 11ty
I didn't forget about this. Basically...well, Art Fight started so I wanted to do that... but then I lost my Apple Pencil so I'm back to doing stuff with my UTAU again. (Hopefully getting it back soon though. Or I'll just have to suck it up and buy a new one.)
Also, I've only really been making internal progress; the voicebank sounds pretty much the same which is kind of boring to show.
I re-rerecorded a bunch of files because I fucked up the pitch. It's supposed to be around F#3 but it wasn't... it wasn't. But now it (mostly) is. I don't know why I chose F#3. I thought it would be easy since my voice naturally lies around there but I Guess It's Harder Than I Thought. I should've went for F3 or G3 or something but it's too late now.
By the way, my voicebank actually works on other resamplers that aren't worldline! (in fact, wordline is kinda bad now.) Here, I'm using wn4u, but straycat-rs also works pretty well. Moresampler still sounds like shit though. So don't try it. Ahh, even though I would love to make them work on moresampler.
The song is Broadcast by Sasuke Haraguchi and the USTx is by gampyre! (BTW, love this cover, please take a listen.)
Do they sound better or worse than before? I can't tell. I've listened to their voice for so long it all sounds the same to me. Please help.
Some of the notes sound kinda weird, so I'll probably have to record those again. I'd say "unfortunately," but I kind of do like recording again. And otoing again. It feels like I was put on this earth to record and oto.
Making an UTAU takes a long time, but it shouldn't take this long! you may think. The reason it's taking so long for me is because I keep fucking up the recording and otoing since it's my first time... so I have to redo everything over and over again... but hey, we can't all be perfect first try, can we!?
I also started to work on the English CVVC a little more. They can even say their first word, now: fuck.
Sorry it's a YouTube Short. Tumblr won't let me upload more than one video per post. I tried to use filegarden, but it wouldn't let me embed. And then I decided I'd just upload it to YouTube, but due to the aspect ratio and video length it was posted as a YouTube Short.
But they grow up so fast. Wow. I actually used worldline for this example I forgot to change the resampler lol. So it sounds a little strange but that will be fixed later.
I'm super duper excited to record the English CVVC, but I want to finish the Japanese VCV first. Or at least get it 99% of the way there. Then, when I'm done recording/otoing the English CVVC, I'll look over the Japanese VCV with fresh eyes... or something.
I don't even know if I'll finish them this month. Hopefully this year? Hopefully by the time I turn 20, because otherwise I'll have to change their age to 20.

Hi! I've been mostly secretive about my UTAU's name, design, etc., but I've already put them up on Art Fight so I can't hide them anymore! I wanted to give some insight into my thought process of naming/designing/creating the character profile of my UTAU.
Name
Their name is Hanabi Shiro, by the way.
Hanabi Shiro is written as 花火シロ in Japanese. Hanabi is the surname, and Shiro is their given name. The word 花火 (hanabi) means firework. It's made up of the kanji 花 (hana), flower and 火 (hi), fire (P.S. hi is pronounced as bi due to rendaku). I chose this surname because I like the word and its meaning. My online name is Fire, so I wanted to include a word that has the kanji for fire in it.
While I didn't initially realize this, flower is my favorite Vocaloid, and hana means flower, so... LOL.
シロ (shiro) is written in katakana. This is similar to how Hatsune Miku, Megurine Luka, Kagamine Rin, Kagamine Len, Kasane Teto, Sukone Tei, Yokune Ruko, etc. are written — a two kanji surname, and a two mora given name in katakana.
You may know Hatsune Miku means "first sound of the future." The ne in her name (and Megurine Luka's, etc.) means sound. I chose not to occupy the second kanji slot with ne because I'm a narcissist and I need to insert myself everywhere. Oops.
In Japanese, shi means four and roku means six. I like to think their model number's 46.
If you're familiar with Japanese culture at all, you'll know that 4 is an unlucky number in Japan since it sounds exactly like the word for death, 死. This is why I chose shi; it's a reference to their personality. I chose ro for the goroawase, so their name could be shiro (reasoning explained above).
Shiro (白 in kanji) means white. This is a reference to their mainly monochromatic design. The word shirokuro (白黒) means monochrome!
Maybe you're now wondering, then, if Hanabi Shiro is so good, then where's Hanabi Kuro!?
…I am thinking of making another UTAU named Hanabi Kuro. But that's far off into the future. I only have a vague design and vague personality, but I imagine him (he's a guy) to be perhaps even stranger than Shiro. He's mysterious, and isn't even related to Shiro at all. In fact, Hanabi Kuro is nowhere close to his real name. Maybe next time I get sick, I'll record him.
I call them Hana-chan or Shiro-chan in my head and with my friends.
Design
I've went through a couple of designs.
First, let me outline their design philosophy. I wanted their design to:
be easy (for me) to draw
be relatively monochromatic
kind of look like me!
The second requirement is there so I can sketch their design with a pencil accurately. I love doing pencil doodles when I'm bored. That's why the first iterations of their design were completely monochromatic.
This was drawn on April 30, 2026, my birthday! These are very early sketches, but a lot of the design still stayed — namely the heart ahoge (or as I've written, heart antenna).
I don't remember how I came up with the heart ahoge. I probably just thought it was cute. And it is. My interpretation is that it's an exposed nerve (wire?) ending or an antenna that transmits subliminal messages to people.
This was drawn on May 14, 2026. They're supposed to be wearing a nightgown-esque thing. I'm in my pajamas like 99% of the time, so I wanted them to be in their jammies too. They are also wearing flip-flops because I like wearing flip-flops.
Their original design has a mole on their left cheek, because I have a mole on my left cheek. Unfortunately I'm prone to forgetting to draw stuff like that, so I removed it.
May 22, 2026. This was supposed to be for my website! You can kind of make out their hands holding headphones… cute.
May 31, 2026. I thought of changing their iris shape for a little, but I decided I didn't like how it looked. So that's why it looks weird here. By the way, they're eating paper with a bunch of words on it to absorb the information.
As much as I enjoyed their monochrome design, I thought it'd look odd if they were next to other UTAU or just other characters in general, so I decided to add a little pop of color. I gave them red glasses, red eyes, a red jacket, and red flip-flops.
I'm sure you're familiar with my art, and if you're not… I don't know what to tell you. Anyway, you'll notice I have a very limited color palette — often red, white, and black, which are the same colors Shiro has in their design. (And gray for their shirt.) It's a reference!
Also, red = fire. Right?
I absolutely love megane characters, so I knew Shiro also had to be a megane. Even though they don't wear their glasses properly.
One of the first ideas I had for Shiro was for them to have completely white skin. It's also a reference to how I draw, since I tend to color everything in except the skin color (for characters with lighter skin tones). I do this because there isn't much of a difference between #FFFFFF and whatever the hell Eito Aotsuki's skin tone is. Seriously, he's as white as paper, dude.
When going outside, people probably just think they're really pale or painting their face.
It is also kind of like Homestuck. They do that in Homestuck, yeah.
June 12, 2026. This is a messier version of their reference on Art Fight. I liked this sketch so much I just decided to fix it up a little and use it for their reference. Additionally, their pen is on the wrong side of their ear. I realized it would probably be a pain in the ass to reach over to your left ear with your right hand, so I switched it. I also changed the hair direction.
I don't wear socks and sandals but I thought it would be funny if they did. I often wear socks or sandals but never both.
The current design reference I have on Art Fight! From July 3, 2026. How cute.
If you're wondering what's under their clothes — nothing. No nipples, no genitals, nothing. Asexual Drake vibes.
If drawn more realistically, I imagine they'd look Southeast Asian/Filipino, because I'm (half-)Filipino.
Personality
Their personality is based slightly off of mine, just like their design.
I don't remember a lot about how I developed their personality, because it's just a bunch of ideas I came up with over time smashed together. Initially, I wanted them to be a yandere UTAU who kills people but I didn't want to reheat Sukone Tei's nachos so I went with something different. Well, they can still be a yandere. To me, while it doesn't fit with their current character bio, they are a yandere.
One of the first things I came up with was them writing stuff down on their bandages and eating the bandages. It's funny. I still think it's funny, by the way. Or maybe it's just stupid and cringe, I don't know. If you don't like it, feel free to completely ignore it because that's the beauty of UTAU and Vocaloid.
And before I came up with that, I had the idea that they got fed so much knowledge they went insane. I still like that idea. They went insane and started killing people — that's a holdover from them being a yandere. Canonically their kill count is only one but I like to think it's way more than that.
Despite being very intelligent, they're nerfed from not being very sociable. Like me, except my intelligence is only average, high average if you're being generous. While it's impossible for robots to have neurodevelopmental disorders since they do not have neurons, they have a lot of autistic and ADHD traits. Because I have autism and ADHD. See, I don't know how to write characters without them being Myself Lite. That's why I could never be a fiction author. Nonfiction, maybe.
Factoids
Here are quick facts about them lifted straight from their Art Fight profile:
Birthday: March 14th
Height: usually around 5'3 in (160cm).
Age: 19
Gender: None
Handedness: Ambidextrous, but prefers right hand
Likes: learning new things, scented pens, random number tables
Dislikes: people
Their birthday was initally May 1st, which is the day after mine. I changed it to March 14th, pi day, because of the number pi. I might change it back though IDK how much I like that one.
They're actually a little bit taller than me; I'm 5'2 or so. Yes, their height does include their ahoge.
I'm 19. So they're 19 too. But they were built around six months ago.
I'm nonbinary so they're nonbinary too.
I'm right-handed so they… oh, well, they're a highly intelligent robot, so I thought it would make sense for them to be ambidextrous. But they prefer their right hand because I am right-handed. I also know that handedness is an unnatural factoid to include for UTAU — it's mostly just birthday, height, weight, age, gender, likes, dislikes. I chose not to define their weight here but added handedness for Fun.
They like scented pens because when they eat scented ink, it almost tastes like the real thing. They like random number tables because they're unpredictable, and they're a fan of strings of information in general due to their totally possible autism. (But I only wanted to list up to 3 things for "likes," so it leaves more room for interpretation of their character.)
Umm that's it
I don't have anything else to say, but if I do I'll just edit this post. Thanks for reading. I hope you enjoyed reading. Thanks. Bye.
The 13th annual international gender census, collecting information about the language we use to refer to ourselves and each other, is now open until 13th August 2026.
It’s short and easy, for most participants it takes 5 minutes or less.
After the survey is closed I’ll process the results and publish a spreadsheet of the data and a report summarising the main findings. Then anyone can use them for academic or business purposes, self-advocacy, tracking the popularity of language over time, and just feeling like we’re part of a huge and diverse community.
If you think you might have friends and followers who’d be interested, please do reblog this blog post, and share the survey URL by email or at AFK social groups or on other social networks. Every share is extremely helpful!
Survey URL: https://survey.gendercensus.com
The survey is open to anyone anywhere who speaks English and feels that the gender binary doesn’t fully describe their experience of themselves and their gender(s) or lack thereof.
