Still so happy that Much Ado About Racing is out in the world! We recorded it in October 2024 when I was still living in London so was able to go to the recording and I loved meeting Annie Wallace (Mercury), Sara Griffiths (Ray) & Anne Odeke (Boots)- whilst also getting to watch Sam Clemens in action as director.

with that said: oh my god you’re fucked up for what you did in hope and i mean this as a high compliment. INCREDIBLY executed rug pull. it made me so mad. the episode made my favorites list immediately. i think i felt every human emotion while listening to it. SO many fantastic elements - i know the wraiths were a preexisting thing but they genuinely got to me. poor eris. and firewall narvin?? oh my lord?? the leela & romana reunion genuinely had me jumping up and down it was SO lovely. ollistra’s entrance was so awesome it made me mad. i’m gonna lose my mind. thank you. i hope they let you write for gallifrey forever. and once again i am sorry.

Hi Fio, I have an “online boundaries” question: I know for Holmwood Foundation there are tags you and Georgia block for fans to discuss the show without you seeing, but do you have something similar for your Big Finish work? I saw that Georgia blocked the Gallifrey and Big Finish tags when War Room 3 came out—do you also do this, or is there a general “don’t look” tag you use?
Hi! Thanks for this. I’m very aware it’s an oddity that two big finish writers are active (I’m more of a once every few months honestly active) on tumblr. For peace of mind I don’t look at Gallifrey or big finish tags in general unless I’m specifically mentioned directly, inboxed a question about my work or I’m tagged. However this does feel like a good idea going forward so

Very sad to hear that we lost Justin Richards yesterday who was instrumental in The Gallifrey Series and creating Brax amongst so many other things. He leaves behind an incredible legacy and my condolences to his friends and family ❤️

hello mr. trethewey! i have been relistening to gallifrey in preparation for war room 3 & today i got to the first days of phaidon. i love this story so very much and all of the leela/narvin bits are so important to me. genuinely i think about “narvin. my… narvin” on a regular basis. a very good audio all around, but that relationship really does drive me nuts in the best way. don’t remember all too much about transference but i do recall being a fan, and i’m also deeply fond of the questing beast and holmwood - very excited for your contribution to war room 3!!

Thanks so much for your lovely inbox! Phaidon was my very first full cast audio so it was terrifying to write and I hope I’ve improved since then. Writing Narvin and Leela is always a joy for me to write for! I think Transference is a lot more of a gut punch emotion wise but Phaidon has a lot of fun comedy moments alongside the tenderness between them (and was directly inspired by my favourite Indiana Jones film ☺️)
On the other Audios though I must say that in the case of Holmwood and Questing Beast Georgia is the true master of craft for those projects, she is incredible and I love working with her. I hope you enjoy war room 3! (Not long now!)

The Holmwood Foundation is a Found Footage Horror-Fiction Podcast, a modern-day sequel to the gothic novel Dracula.
We follow Maddie Townsend (Rebecca Root) and Jeremy Larkin (Seán Carlsen), two co-workers at the Holmwood Foundation: a secret organisation that has been maintaining and studying the remains of Count Dracula for the last 130 years, as they are possessed by the ghosts of Jonathan and Mina Harker, and embark on a nightmare road trip, carrying Dracula's severed head across the UK, in an effort to stop him once and for all.

Sorry for the slow posting this week, WE’VE BEEN IN WHITBY.
After making it such a pivotal setting for the start of The Holmwood Foundation Season One, we took a little trip across the moors to say hello to one of the best-known Dracula locations, and the fictional home of Maddie, Jeremy and Arthur, as well as the destroyed Lucy Westenra building.
We’ve visited the Abbey, walked through St Mary’s churchyard - previously explored by one Mina Murray - and walked many a walking tour (also highly recommend checking out the Hand of Glory in the Whitby Museum, if you like a bit of dark folklore and you’re not too squeamish.)
Oh, and there might have been an engagement as well.
Next stop tomorrow: The Yorkshire Moors! As we chart the route walked by Maddie, Jeremy, The Harkers, and a head in a bag.

With the Dracula time loop officially reset, have some updates from the Holmwood Tomodachi island, in which we have now introduced The Ghosts (not pictured: Renfield and Cam, who we added yesterday, and Dracula, who is banned from the island).
We updated Jeremy and Tim's office spaces to boost worker moral.
And Arthur Holmwood's room had a chill minimalist makeover to suit his chill minimalist vibe.
In a shocking twist, Mina and Jonathan got married.
And Jeremy attempted to cheer up Maddy, the only way he knows how.
Meanwhile, Tom celebrated his birthday, and Henri bonded over work with an unexpected best friend.
And the Crew of Light settled in.
