Declan: why focus on one, when there are many?

fiona: now THAT's the brother i know and love.

fiona: oh, declannnnn

     yes, that’s what she was going to do or at least she was hoping that, either way, that was just her goal, to achieve everything. all of this was stressing but was going to be okay eventually “yes, that’s what i’m going to do, i want to achieve it all” because if one thing she was, well, she was very ambitious when it comes to that “i just can’t focus. he says that this time is different but…i can’t believe that, no offense but i’ve heard about your brother and i’m not one of those girls, i’m way better”

holly j inspired fiona to work harder and strive for her goals. “i wish i could be like you,” she sighed, resting her chin on her hand. “you don’t need to apologize, holly j,” fiona assured her with a laugh. she knew how her brother could be, but something told her that declan was serious this time. “you’re a queen,” the brunette mused, “and i will make sure you get treated like one.”

    the girl looked at her best friend with a small smile “thank you, i just…i need to keep my grades up to apply for a scolarship in the university that i want, my mom can’t afford that college and i want to be the best, you know me” she says with a small shrug, closing her laptop “and there is also your brother, by the way, is a distraction trying to woo me, like i’m another of his conquest, no offense but i like you better” lies, she likes also declan but deep down she can’t just let people know that, not declan or he would think she’s really into him.

“I know you do, H,” Fiona replied with empathy -- she knew her best friend put herself through way too much stress, but sometimes Holly J didn’t realize how brilliant she was. “And you’re going to achieve it all, I know it.” When she mentioned Declan’s flirty advances, Fiona rolled her eyes and couldn’t help but laugh lightly. “I’m glad you like me better,” the brunette responded with a smile, “I’m sorry he’s bothering you -- he just can’t help himself, can he?”

as veronica glances around to figure out what part of the school she’s at, she hears a voice and turns to smile at a female who is approaching her, “am i that obvious?” she asks and laughs softly, “uh yeah i’m trying to find my english class, room 209.” she reads off her schedule and gives the other a soft smile.

“Only a little bit,” Fiona laughed, giving her a warm smile, “But it’s okay -- I was brand new once, too.” She’d been there a little over a year and knew her way around Degrassi like the back of her hand. “Ah -- I know exactly where that is. I could show you if you’d like?”

Declan waited for his sister to finish her remarks, although he knew where this was going from the start. One convenience  of being a twin was you knew that person in some ways better than yourself. Before Degrassi, Fiona had been all he really had. “ Fair point Fiona.” Declan himself was extremely intelligent, and despite everything he kept his grades up, but some days he just needed to get away from Degrassi. The smirk remained curled between his lips. “  I wonder if you’d change your mind,say I invite you.”  

Fiona rolled her eyes playfully. It was clear that Declan knew Fiona had been needing some sibling time -- after all, Declan was the only person Fiona trusted. And she had some things she needed to get off of her chest. “Fine,” she finally agreed, “But only if you find someone to lend us the notes we missed.”

“I’m wonderful. In fact, it’s so much who I am, it’s part of my name!” You could always count on Emily to quote musicals at the most random times. “Strawberry banana please!”

Fiona wasn’t well-versed on musicals, but she knew when the younger girl was quoting one -- just by the way her voice changed. “And what musical is that from?” she asked, ready to be enlightened by her friend’s response. The brunette turned and ordered two strawberry banana smoothies before paying for them, tapping her nails on the counter as she waited for the worker behind the counter to finish them up. Once they were ready, Fiona handed Emily one and took a sip of her own. “Where would you like to sit, Em?” 

“oh it’s os great, new york is amazing i love it there, but it’s also nice to be home. aw you don’t have to do that, i mean i’m sure my mom would appreciate it, but really you don’t have to do that.”

“New York is a dream. I really miss it there and I can’t wait to go back once I’m an officially graduated high school student! Oh, I want to do it -- I promise. I don’t mean to brag, but I’m a seasoned cook! And I love doing it for others.”

When she saw Fiona, Emily threw both hands in the air to wave back, as if she was trying to be seen from a mile away when the person she was waving to was basically right in front of her. “How do you do, my fellow smoothy loving citizen!” 

“Could you be any more adorable?!” Fiona asked, giggling at the blonde. “I’m doing well...and yourself?” She pulled out her wallet and turned to the girl, “What flavor smoothie would you like, Em?”
