If he looked back at his life now, Finley would agree that he was pretty blind growing up, but to him his life had been perfect!Ā
His parents had been loving at least to him, if not to each other now that he thought about it. He had good grades, went to the best school, he was in the little league of his football team. At church is parents were respected and everyone trusted sleep overs at the Dawsonās house meaning he was never short of friends.Ā
Following in his parents footsteps he met Noah, the perfect first romance, a highschool crush and their parents were thrilled. Their golden son was a star athlete, a gentleman to his girlfriend, he got good grades.Ā
His arrogance got to him though, the shinning running back changing everything for his family at just sixteen when he cheated on his girlfriend at a party and was filmed butt naked, having sex before marriage with someone that was not, his girlfriend.Ā Once the video was out at church his family was asked not to return given Finley's lack of remorse and from then on it seemed his white picket fence life with over. The only thing that had been keeping his parents together, their religion and the church, now gone all thanks to him.Ā
Not long after the divorce his dad had moved on and suddenly Finley had step siblings, he barely met them but they were there and given his mom wanted to do very little with him, Finley was left with his father.Ā
At 18 luckily he escaped to college, as talented as he was he was offered a full ride to TMU, and he took it. He was going to make something for himself even if it killed him. And it nearly did. An accident on the field left him out of the game, unable to really use his right side for a while Finley ended up missing a year of school and he never picked himself back up.Ā
It felt like it was too late, like he had been left behind and so he started drinking, got himself a bar job and that was that.Ā
Unbeknown to him however, his father and step-mother had plans to get the 22 year old out of their hands and into a second chance. Given he had never actually tried at college before his father offered to pay for him to apply to the Interchange programme, on the condition he worked his hardest to make something of himself.Ā
It was a chance he didnāt think he would ever get again so Finley agreed with a new found sense of drive to do something with himself, to not let his dad down for a third time - but how long will it last when he realizes that step-brother he never met properly is suddenly in the room next door?
