today’s funky frog of the day is: dendrobates tinctorius! commonly known as the dyeing dart frog, dyeing poison dart frog, or dyeing poison frog, they are found in the guiana shield and venezuela. they are a large species for a poison dart frog, reaching about 2 inches. their poison is highly toxic, with the frogs producing pumiliotoxins and allopumiliotoxins that are used for self-defense. the species encompasses a great diversity of color and patterning variants, some of which are suspected to be a completely different species altogether. they usually live around 6 years, but can live much longer.

Chewies are my new low-key obsession. This girl is so gravid, hopefully my pastel male did the job.

Ended up needing to do a repair layer of grout so I also had to redo the paint! Good thing I never finished the first attempt or I would be even MORE annoyed than I was at first haha. I have my epoxy now so I’m hoping to have water in it to test filtration and flow within a week. Today I’m going to let the paint dry and then get the tank spotless before applying the epoxy, most likely tomorrow. I still need to finish the removable basking ledge but I want to get the water portion tested before I finalize the design and grout / paint / seal it just so I can be sure everything is going to work as planned
