(I’m single) But I replaced “love” with “my husband”

My husband is patient, my husband is kind. He is not envious, he does not boast, he is not proud. He does not dishonor others, he is not self-seeking, he is not easily angered, he keeps no record of wrongs. My husband does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. He always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

And that’s exactly the man I want God to send me. That’s the man I want to spend the rest of my life with. But also, that’s the kind of person I want to be for my husband. So I did a self analization; if I replace love with my name will it fit? Will it be true?

Am I patient, am I kind? Do I envy, am I boastful and proud? If I say; I do not dishonor others, I am not self-seeking, I am not easy angered, and keep no record of wrongs (is that true?) That I do not delight in evil but rather, rejoice with the truth. Do I always protect, trust, hope, and persevere?

Probably not.

So here I am.. waiting for my husband, but what am I doing in the meantime? I can work on being the person I want to find. I can become the person I want to spend the rest of my life with, because I want to give them someone who is “love” or an image of. Because ultimately Jesus is love and was love in the flesh: the actual image of love.
