After graduating from design college, Horiren the First started out working for a computer game company. While she later moved onto becoming a muralist the irezumi (traditional tattoo) captivated her, and at 30 years of age, after years of self-study, she began her career as a irezumi-shi (tattoo artist). As the first in line of irezumi-shi to take the name Horiren the First, she is constantly pursuing greater heights in the industry.

The Maelstrom is one of the most notorious and dangerous gangs in Night City. They are all about the cybertechnology in Cyberpunk 2077 to the point of becoming cyberpsychos due to all of the augmentations they have made to their bodies. Many of them have visually changed their appearances with cybertech to the point of having mechanical faces and the like.

The Wraiths are one of the Nomad gangs that roam the Badlands. Unlike the Aldecaldos and other Nomad groups in the area, they are highly dangerous and will attack other Nomads and people who they come across. As one of the largest groups in the Badlands, they are always fighting against the Aldecaldos.
