Finding Felicity

Let go your anxieties.  Your Father God is in control, and He cares for you.

It’s been 2 years since I created this Tumblr account (my first post was about the difficulty of making choices).  It’s ironic that I haven’t been able to keep my account current, mostly because of that decision I made 2 years ago and how it’s changed my life.  After 2 very brutal years, I found myself struggling again with choices and anxiety.  This song helped me remember the message of my original post.  I may not know in which direction to sail, but my journey is guided by a Captain who knows where I am going.  Not only does He lead me, but He uses my failures for good.  So I can rest easy and trust in Him.  In the words of Hillsong, “The waves and wind still know His name.”

My favorite part of waking up

When I was little, I used to love reading choose-your-own-adventure books, except.. I would never choose just one adventure.  Instead, I kept bookmarks at every point of decision so that I could backtrack if I went the wrong way.  In real life, I don’t have the luxury to do the same.  When making major life decisions, there is usually no return policy.  No rewind button.  No insurance.  This has always been a point of anxiety for me.  Slowly, though, I’m learning to trust in my choices, realizing that in life there isn’t always a ‘right choice’ or ‘wrong choice’, ‘best choice’ or ‘worst choice’.  The beauty is in the Faith we exercise when choosing, believing that He will be with us and give us Wisdom whichever way we turn.  The beauty is in committing to (and finding contentment in) our choices even after the next chapter has lost its newness and excitement.  So if you recently made a big decision, and you’re feeling unsure, there’s no need to look back and doubt.  God is always in front of you.  So look up.  Look ahead. The story is better that way.  :)
