Final Fantasy World Swap

Oh, man, that scratched an itch. I’ve had this idea for months after realizing that on a certain piece of artwork, Shiva looks like she’s throwing up Devil Horns, and I started getting all too amused at the thought of Shiva being a Metal fan in a leather jacket and headbanging while doing the horns sign, which I brought up a few days ago here, and finally I took the time to make this sketch. Had lots of fun doing the gradients, which Paint Toll Sai is fantastic for.

I am also very pleased with the pose, especially considering how many times I had to go back and fix the head flap things as they never looked right with that movement. Could’ve saved myself the trouble and just have them fall behind her, but I like this a lot better, much more energetic and really gives off the idea that she just took that pose and is about to start headbanging.

Hi, I finished playing Final Fantasy Tactics and I have a lot of emotions.

Backstory: The middle child of three siblings, Danny is the son of Stella and Rogeir Bellavia. Hailing from a matriarchal family, the young man was incapable of inheriting the heirloom from his mother’s side of the family that bolstered the spiritual power of its owner. On the opposite end, his quiet and bookish nature compared to his more assertive and charismatic father saw him met with many unfavorable comparisons by his peers. Feeling frustrated by his inability to live up to either of his parents, the young man left home to redefine himself. Learning swordplay as a Soldier with the aid of a Samurai and Blue Magic under a Beastmaster’s tutelage, Danny established Clan Magique, joining up with a few acquaintances he met along the way as a means of proving himself capable. Design (19-years-old): Compared to his sisters, Danny’s design is a lot simpler. The costume is a fusion of the Tactics A2 and XI Blue Mage outfits. His weapons are Kybalion, a tome that is capable of making paper constructs, and Wind Foil, a wind-element short sword from 4 Heroes of Light.

Design (24-years-old): While his choice in headwear has remained the same, the rest of Danny’s ensemble has been touched up. His new cloak is based on the one Agnès Oblige of Bravely Default wears while in the Vampire Asterisk, and his scarf is from Lightning’s Blue Mage costume in Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. Finally, the rest of his outfit is XI inspired, with even his new sword being a slightly redesigned Hofud and his tome, Kybalion, gaining a new cover and binding.
