“Ugh, you’re a real party-pooper, y’ah know that?”
Of course, when it came down to the absolute wire, he knew Vegeta would come around– at least, if it was the only choice left. And even then it’d take some serious goading. He couldn’t understand what was so wrong with the fusion dance, it wasn’t that weird, was it?
Of course, Goku didn’t want to lose the chance to spar. He knew Vegeta would sooner go home than agree to those terms, but he couldn’t be blamed for trying! Goku really just wanted to feel that rush that came from the fusion technique– the power that came with it was undeniable. The saiyan idly wondered if there was a way to achieve that power without being fused.
“Fine, fine! Don’t get y’er armor in a knot, sheesh! Y’ah gotta admit, bein’ Gogeta was pretty COOL, though!”
Once he had finished his stretching, Goku craned his neck– a few pops signaled any remaining stiffness being cast out.
“D’you think we should start out in Blue this time? Or y’wanna work up to it?”
The answer is nigh immediate ─ disregarding warm-up stretching ─ A regal aura engulfs Vegeta whole, covering him in blue. They’re in the hyperbolic chamber and, in turn, they’re here to break a sweat, not fool around. An intense gaze is given to his sparring partner. He’s no less than eager to finally start fighting proper without holding back or trifling interruption.
But he wants MORE. He wants more strength, more power.
“ Let’s skip the formalities. I want to work up to something, but not this. “
A fist clenches. It’s serious business and he’ll make it known. He’s got plans and he’s serious about it.
“ Since you’ve reached that Ultra Instinct of yours, I’ve always wanted to gauge that power myself. I don’t care how long or what it takes but if I beat you, it better be in an all-out fight. Anything else would be a mockery. Show me everything you’ve got, Kakarot ! “
He doesn’t harness a power as strong as Jiren’s ─ yet ─ but there was always a way to push the limits. And he’ll find it.
