Every time I post about Spamton I feel like this
"Wait Spamton isn't homophobic?" Spamton is a trans man, explicitly (and proudly) likes men, wanted to marry Tenna and has a daughter with him.
"But other characters have struggles with mental health, unlike him!" Spamton is a homeless person without medical care for at least 10 years, can't speak properly like before, writes with spelling mistakes that he didn't have before, his whole body has been altered, he no longer has autonomy and freedom, and he's willing being beaten up (abused) if he's paid, he's smaller than other Addisons, his whole body glitches, he has paranoia, psychosis, religious psychosis, panic attacks, and PTSD to the point of hallucinating a audience and praying and begging to them
Yeah, that annoys me too.
The amount of people I've seen saying "But Pink is trans :(( she was having an anxiety attack during the fight!" Spamton is also trans (and homeless and disabled) and was hallucinating and praying and begging in both routes.
Or that "Tenna was scared and overwhelmed in ch3", as if Spamton wasn't going through exactly the same thing as him for *years*. As if being trans or having mental health problems is an excuse to kill some kids or mistreat people.
Spamton really doesn't have the slightest respect and dignity in the game so far, and the fact that a large part of the fanbase agrees with this scares me. And strangely, characters who did the same thing as him (in both routes) are always attractive and able-bodied and there's always someone trying to defend their actions. It's amazing how many people don't think calling Spamton dirty is in fact bad. The whole foam scene is bad.
The foam scene was hurtful to watch for me because I wouldn’t be able to live after seeing my ex partner caring about what we had, but not recognizing me in the slightest now after I try to talk to him. I would just combust right there.
Spamton is the bravest soldier of the game so far.
At least I hope he feels somewhat happy going to our adventures after being our friend. I have dealmaker always equipped.
The worst part is that Tenna did recognize Spamton, the japanese version confirms this. He chose to humiliate him and imply that Spamton would hurt their daughter.
And even if he hadn't recognized Spamton, he just saw that person *SPEAK*. So obviously it wasn't just a rat or creature. And even if it were a rat, don't fucking spray foam on rats????????
Tenna is not the victim in this scene, and nothing he did here was right or justified. Tenna just said that he's alone and wanted someone to help him, so Spamton left Kris's inventory (even they were surprised) just to try and help him. Saying that everything is okay or that it's justified because he's struggling and overwhelmed is the same as saying that all of Susie's abuse/bullying/death threats against Kris are justified because she also has struggles and a bad life. I will never understand how so many people feel bad for the character who is verbally abusing and not the character who is being verbally abused in this scene.
I really hope Spamton has a happy ending. No other character is as humiliated and dehumanized as he is. This isn't even about Spamton being one of my favorite characters anymore, it's about everyone deserving respect and dignity. And kindness being one of the main themes of Deltarune.
look, with gooseworx getting banned can i just say, can we stop putting random tumblr micro celebrities on a pedestal? sure, she wrote a fun show (though the ending is bad from what i've heard) but like
she made edgy 4chan jokes for years. she joked about pedophilia (and said weird things about kids), misogyny, straight up nazism and barely reacted to the vas racism. she had interactions regarding nsfw content with a minor too.
that all might've been years ago (though some of it is still recent) but it's not a smear campaign to want to hold her accountable for what she did. there's a clear option between complete harassment and blind adoration, ignore or report the person who did things for their behaviour, keep those close to you informed about it.
tumblr's staff is transphobic and disproportionally bans trans women, that much's obvious. but that's not an excuse. just because your favourite tumblr celebrity is trans, a woman, queer, disabled or otherwise a minority doesn't mean they should be a role model automatically. there's many other people like you and your community, you don't need to turn to celebrities for like minded people. best case they're harmless, worst case they'll actively exploit their fans and influence.
treat people with humanity and forgiveness if they take accountability for their actions. but make sure they take accountability and aren't potentially dangerous.

Anyway, I’ve read some of your posts and I rly enjoy them, you make some very good points! Like I said; I’m new to tumblr, but I also finished watching tadc a couple of weeks ago, so I’m basically finding my way into the fandom just now. And I’ve heard A LOT of bad stuff. About the fandom as well as about gooseworx, which is ac my question.
What makes her problematic or what did she do that made the fandom dislike her sm? Not tryna defend her or anything, I just genuinely don’t know that much about her and I’d be curious to! That’s why I thought you might have an answer, given that ur acc is mainly focused around criticism towards tadc (and gooseworx)!

She's made weird jokes involving incest, pedophilia, and being bigoted (including straight up Nazism) for the sake of being edgy
^This includes her making frequent misogynistic jokes (and not-really-jokes) as recently as 2024
She was in the stream where Michael and Ashley joked about the n-word and is distinctly the only one of the three to never apologize for her behavior, and only addressed the fandom's racism when it crossed into an IRL event.
While this is extremely old, she got genuinely upset over people drawing Josuke from JJBA as black. Despite its age, it's still relevant seeing as she's never denounced this or lifted up black headcanons in any way. I don't have a link to the post on its own so I'll just drop it as a screenshot:
She's made a shit ton of jokes about scarring children, in general but ESPECIALLY sexually.
She interacted with a then-minor's NSFW fanart of one of her OCs, didn't back down and correct herself when she realized how young she was, and continued to interact with him. A lot. Including her continuing to interact with his NSFW stuff. She did all of this as a 26 year old (in 2021) and her (and the victim but he's the victim so he's exempt) has been shown to not give a shit and find the situation funny shortly after the pilot came out.

I firmly believe what ever you're obsessed with at 11/12 years old becomes a core part of who you are, regardless if you lose interest in it or not. Maybe some of you were lucky and were obsessed with warrior cats or smth, and if you're real unlucky it was probably twilight.
