ALL MY LOVE

Quinn loved everything about Merida. She loved the way her nose crinkled when she laughed (and how she sometimes snorted like a piglet whenever Quinn told a horrible joke or fell over a tree root.) She was mesmerized by the way her hair swayed when she danced or they sparred together. Ah, and the way the princess's eyes sparkled when she spoke about something she loved? The former thief couldn't look away for so much as a heartbeat.

Even right now, when the two of them were doing absolutely nothing, Quinn kept stealing glances. Sitting across from one another in the glen, Merida carved a new pattern into her bow while Quinn sharpened one of her prized daggers. The redhead would stick her tongue out in thought every so often as she carefully worked, a little quirk the woman opposite her loved so very much. Quinn would periodically pause to look up and simply admire Merida as she worked away. Each time, Merida would sense her, and each time she would look up and smile as soon as she saw Quinn lovingly gazing at her.

"Hello, my lady. Come here often?" Quinn hummed in a sing-song tune as their eyes met, laughing when Merida giggled and grew bashful before promptly going back to the task at hand.

A few more minutes of peaceful work between them passed before Merida glanced up yet again. And, once more, Quinn was leaning on her fist with a dreamy look on her face. In an unexpected turn of events, she screeched with laughter as Merida dropped her things and nearly lunged out towards her, punching her playfully in the arm. "MERIDA!" Quinn cried out while falling over into the grass, covering her face as the princess tried climbing on top of her. The two of them howled with laughter as they 'fought' each other, and Quinn screeched when Merida poked at her side. "If ya don't want me starin', stop lookin' so beautiful!"

"Merida, your puppy eyes won't make me get this steak done any faster," Quinn chided as she added a dash of chopped garlic to the pan sizzling on the stove with a tantalizing aroma. "Listen, you treat steak like you would a fine woman, an' ya take your sweet time workin' at it until everythin' is juuust right."

She turned to reach for both of the filet's on the counter beside her and pop them in the pan, but instead hummed in surprise as her girlfriend leaned in and stole a quick kiss. The brunette's lips turned up in a wide grin when Merida tried to scurry away, but Quinn was quick! Reaching out, she managed to grab her girlfriend's hip and pull her right back.

"Nuh-uh! You're my assistant chef, ya can't leave! Plus, I need to do THIS!" Quinn pulled her close and gave her a deep kiss, humming and pulling back with a loud MWAH! She was quite pleased with herself, nodding in approval and rubbing Merida's hip. "Much better! Now, pass me my herbs, please."

being a thief means many lean times, and she wants to make her hunts go the extra mile. she learned to make her own deer, rabbit and various other types of jerky in her adolescence. it's something she only starts to hate when in the dead of winter and she's been eating for far too long, but gets over it so she doesn't starve.

Green eyes flicked to the side as she also happened to see Ella come up behind her in the shining metal. She was about to give a proper greeting, yet Ella placing a pink flower in her hair gave her a moment's pause.

"Aw, how very sweet. I'm honored, Ella," she laughed softly. "I'm sure all the other knights in town will be sick with jealously that the Lady of the house gave ME a flower an' not them!"
