what happened on adam’s last days———————————————————

four days before the tragedy, on december 10, 2012, adam hit his head badly around 5:30 in the morning. nancy described it in a text message as"bloody, bloody, bloody" despite his head injury, nancy still went on her planned two-day trip to new hampshire, leaving adam alone. nancy was afraid that adam would try to cook while she was gone, so before leaving she prepared meals that he could just reheat.
on december 13, adam turned on the gps and drove to sandy hook elementary school and back. the trip took 23 minutes, and he did not drive up the school's driveway. he had already made a similar trip along the same route back in may 2012. after returning home, he removed the gps device from the car.
on december 13, nancy l. had lunch with an old friend she hadn't seen in over 30 years. she told him that her younger son had "some form of autism" and that she was very proud of his accomplishments. nancy l. told her friend that the trip was an "experiment" to see how adam would handle being alone in the house for a few days. she also said that she was "accepting the obligations" of caring for her son and had no plans to remarry. on her way home, nancy l. stopped at a liquor store in claremont and bought five bottles of wine, then stopped at whole foods in hartford for groceries. after returning home on the evening of december 13, nancy l. went into the kitchen. a few hours later, around 9:30 pm, she and adam may have watched the movie "the brothers grimm." their communication was minimal.
it was their last night before the tragedy.
