idk I can tell that some tumblrinas are not up on fat politics because I see a lot of people saying stuff like “it’s better to be a little fat than waste your life trying to be thin” or like “it’s chic to have a little belly” like okay but there are fat people who are “a lot fat” and have “a lot of belly” which everyone is weirdly silent on all the time. Like the fattest person on earth still deserves to exist in human society with joy and dignity regardless of how they got to that weight or how many health conditions they have as a result of their personal actions…that should be everyone’s baseline here I’m not really sure what’s complicated about it

Conservative beauty standards are back with a vengeance which means it's especially important to go out this summer with bellies out and bodies unshaved. Also be unapologetically disabled with mobility aids and wearable medical devices and stim toys and ear defenders and all that stuff. You need it. People need to see it. Everyone needs to be reminded that life is unquestioningly more enjoyable when you're not living inside an arbitrary set of rules created by people who are offended by all the wrong things.

because saying its just for sensory issues has been used by the patriarchy to keep women (and people it deems to be women) shaving. because on every non-shaving/body hair positivity there’s so many comments of “i can’t i have sensory issues 🥺”. if it was on their own post that would be one thing, but it’s often in conversations where we are discussing the patriarchy and its effects and and it’s not said to further the conversation or bring up anything meaningful. society at large does not give you dirty looks, or call you gross if you shave, nobody is forcing anyone to stop shaving, but start to look at where these comments are left, and you’ll notice that they’re almost always when talking about not shaving, which encourages you (the viewer) to keep shaving.

looking at the profile, that's not really the issue here; there's this whole thing going on claiming it's anti-feminist to shave body hair like, the goal isn't to never shave, the goal is to be able to choose.

“this whole thing going on that it’s antifeminist to shave body hair” you sound like a fucking republican, that’s quite literally how my fascist family members talk about feminism. you’re drinking the kool aid and making it my problem. you cannot say women have complete free will until at the bare minimum we can choose to shave or not. and last i checked the rates of body hair shaving between men and women are not 50-50, so patriarchy has a say in women’s choices. it is not “equally bigoted” or whatever you antifeminist morons think it is to say “reconsider why you Really shave” because questioning and fighting against gendered beauty norms is quite literally one of the oldest forms of feminism. get a grip. you’re not as far left as you think you are.
