Himeko glares at her, pulling her fangs out and licking at the wound until it closes, discreetly dripping some of her own onto it. Not enough to turn Kafka. That'd be a hell all of its own. Just a measured drop to keep her alive and healing well.

"Strange to be so greedy when I hold your life in my hands," Himeko says, plucking at the buttons of Kafka's shirt. "Are you really that wasteful with it?"

"Only for a beautiful woman." Kafka grins, in that ennervating way that has Himeko seeing red. It's the kind of smile that pulls away any pretense from the moment: an open invitation to be worse. Perfectly hooked bait, she knows as much, but sometimes she deserves the indulgence of falling.

She flicks off the top button on the shirt, pushing the cloth apart to reveal Kafka's chest, the skin warm and smooth. She can feel the pulse underneath her fingertips as she follows the veins, and this close to the heart, well...

"What has you so mesmerized?"

"Your heart," Himeko says, splaying her fingers over it. It pounds underneath her touch, the heartrate increasing, reverberating into her own stilled heart. "Do you know that the blood closest to the heart is the most intoxicating to drink? So close to life that it could be beating inside my mouth. It's as close to the living as I can be."

"And is my twisted little heart tempting you?"

"Yes," Himeko breathes, licking her lips. "I want to feel your life bleed into me."

"And how close to death would that bring me?"

"Very."
