The Great Game Commentary is my favorite. x x
another year of comic con, another year of me, sitting at home, trying to catch all the good stuff on tumblr
This isn’t space related. But this needs exposure immediately.
This person is talking about the crisis of obtaining fresh water in their town of Flint, Michigan.
this is literally so horrifying
Watch: Leslie Jones gave a touching tribute to Whoopi Goldberg about why representation matters
Gifs: The View
Just beautiful <3 @lemonade-time
oh my god. Imagine being Whoopi and hearing that though.
Well, when I was nine years old Star Trek came on,“ Goldberg says. “I looked at it and I went screaming through the house, ‘Come here, mum, everybody, come quick, come quick, there’s a black lady on television and she ain’t no maid!’ I knew right then and there I could be anything I wanted to be.” - See more at: http://www.startrek.com/database_article/goldberg-whoopi#sthash.gKeuf3XI.dpuf
That’s three generations. Nichelle Nichols to Whoopi Goldberg to Leslie Jones.

Why’ve I got to wear a pinny?
Because you’re Mrs Hudson.
Mixing it up with three key names for Series 4: Thatcher, Smith, and Sherrinford.
Person: "So are you introducing any new LGBT characters in the next series of Sherlock to keep up with equal representation in television?"
Mofftiss: "Introducing new LGBT characters? New? Nope, that's not what we're doing."
Mofftis: "And if we WERE to introduce LGBT characters, the fact that they're LGBT isn't going to be what's most important about them since our show doesn't completely focus on sexual orientation. There are a lot of other things going on, too, just like in real life."
Mofftiss: "People in real life don't announce their sexual preference at every moment. People are PEOPLE first. Everything else comes after."
Mofftiss: "Kids need to see characters who are LGBT but not as if that trait holds them back or defines them. They shouldn't question a character's morality because the character is LGBT. This can only be done if sexual orientation is not the main focus in the character's life. Just like in the real world, humans are complex creatures with a lot of things going on, and IF we had LGBT characters we'd make the show about them in real life and not constantly dwell on and define them by who they prefer sexually."
Mofftiss: "Anyways, where were we? Ahem? Next question? You've got a different question?"

Wonder Woman is NOT Captain America. Please stop the hate.
It has taken Hollywood so long to finally release such a film like Wonder Woman and we should be celebrating. The ONLY similarity between Wonder Woman and Captain America is that their origins take place in the World Wars and that they both have shields.
THAT IS IT.
While Steve Rogers/Captain America was an experiment to destroy Hydra and win the war, Diana Prince was a powerful amazon (by birth) who lived on an all-woman inhabited island called Thermyscira and helped her friend/lover Steve Trevor win the war.
Despite my blog being very pro-DCEU, I actually have a lot of love and respect for the MCU. I do not want to start hating the MCU fandom because their feelings are hurt about DC getting to show a few badass films.
Believe me, there’s enough room in Hollywood for both Marvel and DC. Chill the fuck out.

Reblog if you're a Star Trek fan (any and all series and movies) and you're female.
I want to see how many of us there are :)
The results should not surprise anyone.
STAR TREK
I once ran a Star Trek meet up group. I’m pretty sure there was only one person who was male-identifying.
I dressed up as artemis ( yep the thing that killed Tasha) for a con and people actually knew who I was :) Long time Trekkie here!
Yo! *waves* Been around since the 60s.
All of them. ALL. (Okay, so I never really warmed up to Enterprise. But all the rest HELL YES). I was born a Trek fan (mom’s a Trekkie, too, who took us to see all the movies as children) and I shall die on this mountain.
BTW: it was a woman who started the letter compaign that got ST:TOS renewed for a third season (Bjo Trimble) and it was a team of (mostly) women (Joan Winston, Elyse Pines, Eileen Becker) who put together the first Star Trek convention, aka the convention that all modern day fan conventions are modeled after. Just thought I’d throw that out there. :)
How’s this a question?
