MY THOUGHTS ON SHELLY'S SITUATION

Shelly is curious and she WILL want to satiate that hunger. A hunger that Dandy doesnt or isn't willing to feed because it's either too dangerous or too hard for him to manage and keep safe when he's
1. Searching for a cure to the Blot
2. Keeping his guard up from the other stars
3. Managing the limited supply in garden view
4. His duties as a star (despite low-key neglecting them)
5. Taking care of a LOT OF OTHER TOONS
And it's not like Shelly's curiosity ONLY reaches to history, it's also to the Ink Machine (and also a lot of other things she can't simply get from books). Which btw time and time again is a CONTROVERSIAL TOPIC due to
3. Heavy belief in it being not real
4. A very dangerous thing to search for
As proof from Felix's disbelief and just shrugging it away at first and having to go to a CELESTIAL, MAGICAL TEMPLE for the map, Mickey trying his best to stop someone looking for it (I mean he put out a fucking bounty on the B-bros) and Bendy telling Boris to stop looking into the machine cuz it's a waste of time.
In all the chaos of Gardenview and the outside world with the blot, it'd be easy to miss one small detail going off track. So for Dandy, the best way to make sure that detail stays on track is to practically put WALLS ON EVERY SIDE. Practically treating her like a TEEN he's trying to prevent from going rogue!
Not everyone can handle Shelly and her very active curiosity in a way where she could positively learn from it. We've seen them turn shelly away multiple times, she was even assuring Sprout her INJURY from a TWISTED wasn't that bad and she just needed a quick bandage. She felt bad that her "best friends" don't have time for her. All that tells us that this has been happening FOR YEARS. And that she's grown to EXPECT that constraint and to not bother them with her own well being.
She's a very active ball of a fossil that keeps getting denied stimulation. She doesn't know how to control that because she was never able to learn how. It's like being denied something you really want to do again and again so when you finally get that opportunity you SEIZE IT AS MUCH AS YOU CAN!
And that's exactly whats happening when she meets Bendy. It's an extremely rare opportunity to meet a DEMON up close and the demon himself is ENTERTAINING HER CURIOSITY. It's finally no longer just a book but an actual living breathing and TALKING person that won't just instantly deny her (pls do take note that Bendy intentionally didn't tell her abt his discomfort and was actively entertaining her to get her on his side)

So over the years since Shelly has met Dandy she has been
1. Denied stimulation of her very active mind
2. Was constantly placed constraints on her curiosity (i.e learning abt the outside world, the ink machine and limited opportunities to actually satiate her curiosity)
3. Left to her own thoughts and devices most of the time despite wanting to socialize
4. Doesn't have much experience in meeting new people
5. Extremely limited social interaction for an extrovert
And she met Dandy 13 FUCKING YEARS AGO. She was literally 17 WHEN THIS STARTED 💔💔💔💔
Socializing, reading the room, knowing boundaries. These are all things that needs HANDS ON EXPERIENCE to learn. Which again SHELLY DOESNT HAVE 😭😭😭

I will admit that I was experiencing second hand embarrassment when Shelly literally started poking and pulling at Bendy but the amount of hate she's getting for this is unbelievably unfair when other people have done far worse than her.
