Emcee : a system role which describes an alter who is perpetually, or nearly so, always in front. The job of this alter is to live the body's life and handle daily struggles so the rest of the collective doesn't have to (they may have other roles as well, but usually this one is more dominant). Other members may front alongside the emcee, but the emcee still remains in primary control of the body. This does not necessarily mean that the emcee truly never leaves front, just that if they do, it is probably not for very long (ex: a few hours).

This is intended for systems who have infrequent switches & p-did systems but can be used by anyone it applies to—as this is just intended to be a more specific variant of "host."

Etymology: "emcee" is a word which means "master of ceremonies," and is a synonym of the word "host."

game terminology plural - a flag for plural collectives/systems/etc who use game-themed terminology in reference to one's plurality/systemhood.

some examples;

saying "[x] logged in" instead of "[x] is fronting"

saying "[x] spawned in" instead of "we formed/introjected/etc [x]"

saying "[x] is afk" instead of "[x] is dormant"

tender - a plural role for a headmate who’s role feels like a distinct combination of the caretaker & protector roles, whatever that means to the user.

self-hatred holder - a plural role for a headmate who holds feelings of self-hatred.

HEART

The Heart is a plural term for a headmate/alter who is unique in terms of how they feel relative to how other headmates feel when fronting.

A more detailed explanation under the cut (this term is a mouthful)

The Heart feels more grounded than others (not necessarily more connected to the body, or identifying with it in any way), as if their presence/identity is intrinsic to the brain and the system. Without the Heart, there would not be any system. They or their consciousness feel like the tree that holds up the apples.

The Heart can often cling to front and stay fronting for a long time, or always be present/slightly conscious.

The Heart is likely to also be the core and/or the original, if such terms apply. They are also likely to be the host, if such terms applies.

The Heart can split or fuse like non-Heart headmates, and otherwise functions identical to them. The Heart can also be(come) a fictive.

Missing data in regards to whether the Heart can be dormant.

Within median systems, this term can refer to the "main"/primary identity.

The term works on the assumption that there can only be one Heart, but if you& feel like it is applicable to multiple alters, you can use it that way, too.

Please do not use this term as an excuse to imply that there is some sort of "superior alter/headmate". The Heart is equal to every other headmate in every way, unless System-specific hierarchy dictates otherwise.

This term is inclusive of traumagenic systems, endogenic systems, willogenic systems, tulpamancers, and any other origin system out there.

I just wanted an alternative to "core" for myself that fully encompassed my experience within the system. -MVR

Complex amalgative: A system term which describes an amalgative alter who has complex sources. An example of this could be having a few characters as one's sources but also having their alternate universe/timeline versions as sources.

finished ref for our brand new astrophel, with and without visor :] the chestplate, visor, and center eye change color depending on the current fronter and defaults to yellow on autopilot (or purple for the visor). pray for us no more redesigns for 2 years MINIMUM.
