okay, so, differences! Clord first:

Buff as fuck, definitely; the time between Spares and The End was spent in Norway becoming an army leader. So.

Lotta bandages and band aids, his hands are scarred and calloused.

His English is very formal and textbook with Norwegian substitutes whenever he doesn't know a word. Clord's accent is thicker than Tord's, his voice is deeper, and he doesn't use contractions. (It degraded from his time in Norway, plus I imagine his speech was kinda fucked from the start.)

Smokes cigars because he thinks it looks cooler than cigarettes, everyone point and laugh. (He doesn't smoke as much as Tord though.)

Lighter hair and tan skin from working in the sun, his hair horns are longer but Clord keeps his hair cut at chin length; additionally, his bangs face out.

Skinny, twig-like, borderline malnourished. He sucks at taking care of himself -- he gets distracted working.

His hoodie is bigger than Clord's and it actually has sleeves, someone donate their sleeves to Clord. While he does get nicks and the like from his work, he rarely bandages them; he also has self-harm scars which are notably absent on Clord.

Tord's English is fluent, he speaks casually and knows a lotta British slang. His accent is there but a lot slighter than Clord's.

Darker hair and pale as fuck -- someone please drag him outside -- heavy eyebags, shorter hair horns, inward facing bangs, and Tord can't be fucked to cut his hair so it's typically around his shoulders to upper-back. He's also shorter by, like, a head because I think it's funny.

Matt is not lobotomized, since Tord kept in contact they knew how to reverse it.

Tord and Tom's relationship is more teasing frenemies than outright hostile enemies. (Which is another reason why Tom was so suspicious of Clord.)

When Clord first showed up it was kinda funny 'cause Tord visited just 3-ish years back, so imagine seeing your twig of a bsf -- who used to be shorter than you btw -- show up buff and TALLER??

Tord tries to visit every 3-ish years, E-mail once a day, and call once a week but his work is pretty demanding so sometimes it doesn't work out loll -- which is why Clord was able to spend a solid few days in their house before Tord called and tipped Edd off. Anyway, because he's visited twice since he left he actually went through a couple adventures himself, and Edd would have caught him up. So the whole scene where they catch Clord up would be shorter, restricted to the last 2 years.

tl;dr: ragebaiter x ragebaited (how original ik)

Tord is Super Mentally Ill™️ but masks it very well, Tom has anger issues but is typically okay at controlling them (unless drunk lmfao). They bring out the worst in each other because Tord, as aforementioned, is a ragebaiter; this doesn't usually amount to anything because it's, like, in a Loveable Asshole way, but he gets on Tom's nerves like No Other.

At first they don't care about each other, Tord just likes the undivided attention Tom gives him, and Tom finds Tord too irritating to ignore. But, eventually, Tord begins associating the attention with Tom and Tom gets a bit obsessed trying to find away under Tord's skin. (Tord starts verbal fights, Tom starts physical fights; even then Tord doesn't often strike back loll.)

The problem is that Tord is a chronic idgafer. There is very little he cares about enough to be affected by having it thrown back in his face, and Tom doesn't want to bring their other friends in on their petty fights. It isn't until he gets capital D Drunk one night that he says something like, "I bet you don't even care about Matt and Edd," that he gets under Tord's skin. Tord, for the first time, loses his fuckass smile and punches Tom first.

It does not feel good to get under Tord's skin, Tom finds. In fact, it is so profoundly unsatisfying it kind of makes him sick. (Imo revenge is a good fantasy but a terrible reality, just kinda leaves you bereft.) In other news, Tord does care for Matt and Edd!!! Like, he would Die for them.

This is ironically where their relationship starts to better. Tom doesn't care as much about getting retribution -- Tord still pisses him off -- so now it's just Tord's attraction to unhealthy attention they must recon with.

Ignoring Tord wouldn't work if you know anything about people who seek attention religiously, they only get worse lmfao. I think Tom would one day just plop next to Tord -- who's working on an invention or something idk -- and Tord, naturally, would say some shit. Instead of rising to the bait Tom would ask what he's working on, taking bro COMPLETELY off guard. (Redirecting attention instead of cutting it off.)
