fellhjarta:
âI might,â She admitted while scanning the otherâs campsite warily, if not tiredly. âCanât find much to huntâ for miles now. Iâve found a lot of other tracks, strange looking ones, but I canât make sense of them.â Pausing, though keeping her bow in-hand, just in case this stranger wasnât actually friendly, she sighed, breath clinging to the duskâs cold air, suddenly feeling apprehensive. Could he somehow be the problem?
âI havenât seen any people either, except for you. Would you know whatâs scaring off or killing everything?â
Well that was kind of an awkward question to be asked, especially when he was about to take another bite of smoked meat. Maybe he should offer some to the stranger?
âThat is strange, aye. Around this time of year, it ought to be easy to find game. Rutting season and all.â He replied, mouth full of meat before finally swallowing as if he just remembered his manners. âThese strange tracks, what did they look like? Are they nearby?â
He seemed curious, though she knew there were more beasts in the world, not too unlike her family-clan, who could change their bodies into something inhuman. The seers spoke of bloodthirsty creatures outside the mountains, many who might try to trick her. If he was such a thing, and he didnât know, then sheâd really be in for it. He smelled strange, certainly, nothing she could entirely comprehend, but it made her feel tense.
Carefully, she approached, though keeping some distance between them, as she crouched down and began to rub her palm and fingers into the dirt. There, she created a large circular shape, with five short but sharp triangular tips jutting out from one side.
âLike this, but bigger,â The woman muttered, lifting her head, looking away from self-made track and to the lowlander. âMuch bigger, set deep in the ground, and far apart. So itâs something very tall, heavy, and with two legs. Does it look familiar to you?â
