mayorzorafalkâ:
Zora threw him a flat look before bringing her glass back up to her lips. âImagine yourself as an objective party, would you encourage me to get friendly with you?â she raised an eyebrow, humor starting to dance its way back into her expression. As pleasant of a front he put up, she knew she would never let herself life him enough to let him get close to any of her weaknesses he could exploit. âIâm afraid you might take advantage of your newfound position as a friend of the mayor. But Iâm just being overly cautious, right? You would never.â She smirked, shaking her head.
âHmmm,â Felix pretended to think about it the way she requested. He already knew the answer. Any objective party would warn Zora to stay far, far away from getting friendly with any of the Council representatives....but given the current political climate, they would likely advise her to stay extra far away from a vampire. âNo, actually. You arenât being cautious enough.â Felix sipped his wine casually, his eyes floating over Zora. âWhy do you think some of us live to be so old? It sounds bad to say, but the truth is, we know how to play the game. Itâs what we were made to do.â
