Let’s just say this fandom is toxic in a sense that many take a lot of the content creators for granted + care so much about followers and notes that it makes a lot of people uncomfortable even calling ourselves a STAY.
The fandom is fun when you have people who care about Stray Kids as much as you do and yell about them DESPITE the number of followers you have; but nowadays, this fandom feels like a big competition on who can gif the quickest or who can write the best clout-chasing post about an underappreciated members or just posting a personal text post and tagging it as Stray Kids to get the notes. It’s annoying and unhealthy.
You reached 1k followers? Great! That’s amazing–a thousand people like the content you post. But it does not give you the right to think you’re better than anyone else in this fandom. We’re all here to love and support Stray Kids and you’re ruining it for everyone else. And even worse? You’re ruining it for the boys you claim to love yourself. You’re giving STAYs a bad name and then bandwagon hate might start and Stray Kids would have to work harder to achieve their ambitions because people will try to put them down because of us. Don’t even try to deny that fandoms are a big factor as to why people stay away from liking something.
While I’m at it, people will like you more if you support their content. Reblog and there’s a higher chance someone will click on your blog and check you out if you’re that thirsty for followers. But don’t go around sending anon hate, the lowest thing you can do on this hellsite, because you’re jealous. If you don’t like the person, BLOCK AND REPORT. IT’S NOT THAT HARD.
Stop spreading hate and negativity because no one likes it. This fandom always has drama up it’s sleeve and some people blow it out of proportion but I’ve kind of had it with this bullshit.
There’s no such thing as a “big blog” and if you seriously want power that much, create content people like and maybe you’ll get it.
Stop tagging every one of your personal text posts as “stray kids” in hopes that someone will see your blog ← this is clout chasing, not wasting hours on something as useless as creating gifs that’s tumblr exclusive
STOP MAKING OLDER FANS FEEL BAD; not all biases are romantic attractions and if you’re seriously attacking them because they bias someone younger than them, you’re delusional. People can bias whoever they want as long as they’re not seuxalizing a minor. Plus, older fans are the ones who can buy albums anyway, which means physical, monetary support, so leave them alone.
There’s no such thing as a big blog. Stop caring about notes and followers so much.
Actually reblog content? You won’t get any content if the majority of content creators aren’t getting the response they need for motivation.
Make your own content–don’t take others. And if you do, ASK FOR PERMISSION FIRST OR WORSE COMES TO WORSE, properly credit them. Properly crediting is better than just posting without credit, but just don’t, take, other people’s works.
Stop caring about followers.
Streaming and voting is nice yes, but you’re not a bad fan if you don’t do it? People just don’t have the patience to do that kind of thing, can you blame them? Doesn’t make them any less of a fan.
You’re allowed to have unpopular opinions. Just keep your wording and morals in check please.
PREDEBUT STANS ARE NO MORE SPECIAL THAN AFTER DEBUT STANS. GET OFF YOUR HIGH HORSE.
There. Is. No. Such. Thing. As. A. Big. Blog. Or account for that matter.
Appreciate all nine members please. There’s a reason why the “nine or none” saying is still used.
There are honestly probably a lot more things I can say because I’ve been in this fandom since the start so I’ve seen a lot, but here, as a fandom to support Stray Kids, it’s not about you at all. Just create the content you like and want to do and have fun with others without making this place to toxic. If you can’t convince someone that they’re wrong, block. If you didn’t get as many notes as you wanted, cry about it for a day, move on, and keep posting more content. If anything, take a break from this website and come back when you’re ready. But don’t go putting others down, backhanded compliments or not, if you’re not feeling the greatest.
Because at the end of the day, we’re just here to support Stray Kids. It’s not that hard.
