When Walgreens was the Road Trip Savior

Teenage kungfugrift used to draw a bunch of Fradon’s Plas stuff, so when I got the chance to meet her at one of the Megacons a long time ago, it was also a chance to get her to look at the stuff I was doing at the time. Her assessment: I actually didnt suck, but I concentrated too much on backgrounds. She was right. I also, showed my stuff to John Byrne, same day, who said it was alright but I could never sell golden age material because I’m not British and nobody’s bleeding. He was angry. All in all, fun day. BTW, theres a pretty great book where Howard Chaykin interviews Fradon about her work!
