There was a slight spring in his step as Phillip wandered around Arcadia. Â He had no destination in mind; he just decided to take a walk. Â He was lucky enough to have such a nice day on his day off, it would be a shame to waste it. Â So, he continued to walk down the streets, contemplating his destination.
While on his walk, he almost completely walked past his boss and friend, Georgia. Â It might have been just recently that Georgia had become his boss, but the two had been friends for a much longer time. Â Sure, they kind of fell out of contact when Phillip moved to Leuda, something he regretted, but as soon as they were reunited again, it was like the two hadnât been apart.
One thing Phillip noticed about her was that she looked like she was on a mission. Â What she was up to, Phillip had no idea. Â In fact, he was actually kind of curious as to what she was doing. Â She had all of these supplies ready to go. Â Maybe it would be best if he didnât stop her...
Nope, curiosity won him over.  âHey, Georgia,â he waved, walking up to Georgia  âHeading somewhere?â
Mark really hated when his nights got like this. Maybe it was the anxiety of the move or maybe it was just one of those nights, but he felt like he was going to jitter out of his skin if he didnât do something. It was keeping him from sleeping.Â
So he did the only thing he thought to do.Â
He put on a pair of jeans and decided to take a walk. The dogs were already asleep so he didnât bother taking them out with him.Â
Arcadia always had a nice atmosphere at night, quiet but with the distant song of crickets and a few cicadas. The gentle glow of the street lamps illuminating his path as he walked. He didnât have many destinations in mind, he just wanted to get⌠somewhere.Â
And somewhere he did end up.Â
The gentle lapping of waves hitting the beach made Mark sigh, the sound helping him clear his head. Though the peace wasnât meant for long, as he noticed the sound of someone walking towards him. He quietly lifted his head and glanced in the direction of this person, wondering what on earth they were doing up at an hour like this.
That night at the Junk Shop had been what Phillip would consider close to hell. Â Taking inventory was never fun when your inventory could literally be anywhere in the store. Â It took him until late to actually make sure everything was in some sort of order. Â It was actually awful.
Though, he knew he was going to be late that night, so he made sure that he wouldnât have work the next day. Â That way it would give him time to recuperate the next day. Â Because of this though, he hardly felt the need to go to bed right after he got off the ferry. Â The night was still young, and he wasnât tired.
Seeing the stark difference between Arcadian and Leudan night life reminded the man exactly why he decided to move back. Â While Leuda never actually seemed to sleep, Arcadia was so much calmer, more serene. Â It was something that Phillip missed most when he lived in Leuda. Â
He ended up walking for a little bit, not really sure where he was going. Â He wasnât walking long though before he ended up on the beach. Â Taking his shoes off, he felt the cool sand between his toes as he walked down the shore line. Â He took in the sounds of waves and the stars above him as he walked.
Phillip had walked maybe a half a mile before he came upon another person. Â At first the darkness distorted his view, making it difficult to tell exactly who it was up ahead, but as he got closer, it became clear who it was. Â A smile grew on his face realizing it was none other than his neighbor and probably best friend, Mark.
âHey,â he said with a small wave. Â âWhat are you doing out here this late?â Â
The semester was going by fast at St. Hermelin, and Raven was royally screwed if she didnât fix up her grades soon. But as if on a stroke of sheer luck, her seat had been arranged near one of the geekier students. Copying his answers practically saved her life. Raven didnât exactly think too much about it, it was probably one of the more minor things she did compared to what sheâd received long lectures from teachers for.
Come lunchtime, she poked at her food with a bored expression as if that would somehow make it more appetising. Then an all too familiar ginger guy sat down in front of her. Phillip was someone she couldnât understand if she tried. Especially the part where he actually seemed to like school.Â
âOh look who it is. Teacherâs favourite pet,â she said with half a smirk. It was honestly a mystery how she hadnât managed to scare him away yet. He was⌠persistent, sheâd give him that.  Then he asked how was class, of course oblivious to the fact she copied off him. Well, if he didnât know⌠it never happened. â⌠Ugh, donât remind me. Functions, graphs, you donât need a class for that crap. When will this information ever be useful?â
Phillip was hardly surprised by Ravenâs attitude. Â From the time he had already spent with her, he knew that it was a rare occasion where she came off as a warm and sunny personality. Â He honestly didnât mind though. Â It made her seem like a more honest person, except for, yâknow, the whole copying off of him thing. Â Maybe that was what drew him to her in the first place. Â Well, whatever it was
âYup, thatâs me.â Â He felt his eyes roll slightly when she called him the name. Â âSeriously, Red, you need better insults. Â Keep them fresh, you know?â Â He gave a smirk back at her. Â Two could play this game, even if there were probably no winners to it.
âWell, that depends,â he started. Â He thought for a minute, realizing he had never asked Raven what she wanted to do with her diploma. Â âWhat do you plan on doing when you get out of high school? Â Iâm sure it can be helpful somehow.â

The bell rung, signalling that it was time for the first lunch to begin. Â Along with the rest of the teenagers at St. Hermelin, Phillip found himself rushing down to the cafeteria, hoping to spend as much of his new-found freedom as he could down there. Â Normally, the boy sat at a table with a couple of his friends, but today was different.
It all started when one day, demand for seats at the table he normally table he sat at were pretty high, so with him buying his lunch today chances were he wasnât going to have a seat once he made it through the line. Â And, like as predicted, he didnât have a seat. Â He had looked around the cafeteria for a new place to sit when he settled on a table with a girl named Raven. Â
Now, the only way Phillip really knew Raven before this was through the couple classes they had together, most of which were spent with Raven copying his work. Â He hadnât really talked to her before then. Â Now the two were at least on talking terms. Â Phillip was actually pretty positive that Raven saw him as a nuisance, but there was something about Raven that struck Phillip, leaving him curious about her. Â So now every Tuesday, Phillip took it upon himself to sit with Raven.
And, guess what day it was.
Phillip took his lunch box and sat in his usual spot across from the girl. Â âHey, Raven.â he gave the girl a smile, hoping to lighten the mood. Â âHowâs class today?â
There was something strange about these three diamonds. Â They were just sitting in the rock wall, completely abandoned. Â Like someone had just stopped what they were doing and failed to extract the diamonds. Â Phillip had a bad feeling about them. Â From the moment he fell down that hole into this cavern, something seemed off, even more so when it concerned the diamonds. Â Still, they were just sitting there, waiting for someone to take them. Â And yet still, there was something off about them.
Phillip pondered on the inconvenience of the diamonds for sometime, until he heard the low growl coming from behind him. Â He slowly turned to face whatever made the noise, only to come face to face with a Grimoire Dragon. Â Phillip felt himself freeze, panicked. Â He couldnât fight a dragon! Â He could hardly take on a wooly without it beating him down. Â This was not good. Â This was so very not--
But before Phillip could finish his thought, the dragon swiped at him, sending him across the cavern and into the far wall. Â Ow! Â That hurt. Â Seeing that the dragon was still coming after him, he picked up a rock and flung it at the dragon. Â Missed. Â With the dragon drawing ever closer, he picked up another rock. Â It flew straight for the dragon, only to land at the dragonâs feet. Â Not finding Phillips attempts at self defense humorous at all, the dragon, spread itâs wings and flapped, sending air currents circling around Phillip, knocking him to the ground once again.
Phillip knew the end was near as the Dragon swiped at him again, sending him into the other wall. Â He was defenseless, or was he? Â Out of the corner of his eye, Phillip saw his hammer. Â It wasnât the best weapon, but if it meant staying alive, it would have to do. Â Phillip got up and ran to his hammer, picking it up and swinging at the dragon. Â The dragon swung at him again, but Phillip rolled out of the way, hitting the dragon one, two, three times! Â The pain the dragon expressed was enough to build his self-confidence. Â Maybe he could beat the dragon yet.
This, however, proved to be fleeting as the dragon used itâs tail to swat at Phillip on last time, sending him into the wall hard. Â With that, he passed out, leaving his unconscious body in the cavern to hopefully be helped by some good Samaritan.
Phillip took a boat ride over to Leuda [-2,000G @dirkonthegoâ], and got extremely lucky at the casino. Â He took his winnings to Steel Edge Blacksmithâs and bought a Mythic Hammer [-16,000G + [1] 50% off coupon @badobingbadoboomâ], and then went mining. Â Back in Arcadia, Phillip ended his day by critter catching, foraging, and monster hunting.
