I am confused about something. A lot anti-delena fans say that Damon's a rapist. When I saw the scene concerning this I thought he just compelled her to do things for him and tore her blood out. Which is violent to be sure, but on par for a vampire show. Am I remembering this incorrectly?
one of the ‘things’ he compelled her to do is have sex with him. She was under compulsion the whole time she was in a ‘relationship with him’
Daroline happened because Caroline was lamenting to Bonnie in mystic grill about how no one ever chooses her and showing her dejectedness and low self esteem
Damon who is overhearing the conversation and had probably already decided to use Caroline to get to Elena (because that was the whole point of their interaction in s1) preyed upon Caroline seeing her low self esteem as an opportunity.
and I use the word prey deliberately, ask i talked about here they way damon goes about persuing caroline is exactly hiow he teaches elena how to hunt humans (find the weak shallow insecure blonde and make her your target).
When they do to have sex innitailly caroline is into it but then damon scares the shit out her revealing himself to be a vampire inthe most terrible of ways and then bites her violently leaving her screaming in pain before the screen fades to black.
We can definately assume a terrified caroline given half the chance would have withdrawn her vconsent and ran far far away from damon given half the chance but he is on top of her a grown ass man and a vampire plus he has his fans in her kneck
The next day she wakes up confused with a bit on her neck looking terried., In an even more creepy move damon has changed her clothes into some neglige thingy while she was unconcious
she gets up to run away but he grabs her throws her back on the bed
and then it pans to caroline who just looks terrified and is shaking her head at Damon willing him to not hurt her which is possibly one of the sickest things I’ve ever seen on tv.
From then on he compels her to feel fear or at least outright terror when they have ‘sex’ and i use that word very loosely because its not sex as caroline is nver given the chance to consent after the initial il encounter and when he feeds off of her.
Damon also raped andie and several other women for the record all by way of compulsion.
