𝖕𝖗𝖊𝖙𝖙𝖞 𝖇𝖔𝖞 . . .

        “  you mean you aren’t tired of pretending to be a college student  ?  “  edward asks sarcastically,  knowing just how boring their lifestyle can begin to feel.  he’s lucky to have the distraction of a daughter to keep him busy.  “  i suppose i’m interested.  what classes are you considering  ?  maybe i’ll add another medical degree to my collection.  “

        it seems impossible that he and hope can actually be alive  ;  he had,  after all,  been killed with the one thing that was supposed to keep him dead.  that leads him to one assumption  :  are they in some sort of prison world  ?  and if so,  why is hope there, too  ?  he inhales a deep sigh and holds her close,  afraid of letting her out of his sight.  “  whatever it is,  i’m glad i’m stuck here with you,  hope mikaelson.  “  having her by his side made it feel like they could overcome anything life threw at them.

        it was overwhelming,  to say the least,  to be thrown into this situation after just barely saving his daughter’s life from the volturi.  it seemed as though nobody had any answers,  and edward was beginning to feel desperate.  it was infuriating to not know how or why this was happening  —  to not know whether he could protect his family from whatever was going on in forks.  when he spotted leah approaching,  edward had to force his eyes not to roll in his head  ;  he didn’t appreciate having the blame thrown on him,  but could he really blame them after what happened with the volturi  ?  the quileutes were thrown into a battle that wasn’t their own,  and for that edward would be eternally in their debt.  “  do you honestly think that we’re capable of something like this  ?  we’re just as confused as you are.  “  

        he recognized her.  she was the girl from the newborn army that the volturi killed.  how was it possible that she standing in front of him right now  ?  was it possible that the force that merged the towns had also resurrected her  ?  “  i don’t either,  but you look like you could use help.  “  noticing her crimson eyes,  he flinched at the burn he felt in his own throat.  given the state she was in,  she posed a threat to the nearby humans.  edward knew he needed to get her away from town before something bad happened.  “  follow me.  “  motioning towards his left,  he began to walk towards the nearby forest,  hoping the newborn would follow him.

        landon has always struggled with fitting in,  so when he meets someone that doesn’t instantly make him feel like an outsider,  he’s hopeful that an actual friendship will form.  percy seems just as much of a recluse as he is,  but with whatever has been going on around town,  landon has become desperate to figure it out.  if that means tracking down the mysterious witch he’s only hung out with a couple times and asking for his advice  ?  so be it.  “  hey,  percy  !  “  he calls out when he spots the other.  they’re standing near the school  (  it is the only place with a working hvac,  after all  ),  and landon tugs an earbud loose before continuing.  “  do you have any idea what’s going on  ?  i sort of died and woke up to the earthquake,  and now i have a sinking feeling that something really bad is going to happen.  “

        she’s the first person he thinks of,  the first person he looks for,  when he wakes up from  . . .  whatever the hell just happened.  the last thing he remembers is his own best friend stabbing him with a golden arrow,  which was supposed to permanently kill him.  he has no idea what is going on with mystic falls right now,  but that’s not what he’s worried about anyway.  when he sees hope,  his body washes over with relief,  grateful to see that she’s alright.  “  hey,  “  he approaches her,  arms instinctively wrapping around her waist to pull her in for a hug.  “  i don’t know how i’m alive right now,  but  . . .  i’m not complaining.  “
