I like to think of most fictional mercenaries as basically very, very high-level Taskrabbit assistants. Sure, they're happy to kill for the right price, but it'd be so nice to occasionally get paid handsomely to spend a week traveling to collect rare and exotic snacks and/or art supplies

real sadists understand that you can torture The Character simply by forcing them to live with themself

Shoutouts to characters that don't know the facade isn't their real self. Shoutouts to characters who put up a front so long ago that they have now forgotten it's all an act. Shoutouts to characters who no longer know who they are because they think they're being sincere. Shoutouts to performers so good they fool even themselves. Shoutouts to characters who fall for their own lies.

"I'm still kicking" is such a funny way to say "I'm still alive". Like lol. I'm still thrashing. Flailing. Writhing even. The violence remains.

# JUST ELIOT SPENCER THINGS đĽ°đĽ°đĽ°
I mean, uhh, "Leverage and Leverage: Redemption are amazing shows to watch if you're into watching corporations and assholes of society get fucked by a team of hypercompetent Robin Hood types all on their own personal growth journeys..."
Fictional Characters Who Could Resist the Power of the One Ring
Abed (Community)
Eliot Spencer (Leverage/Leverage Redemption)
Janine Teagues (Abbott Elementary)
Shoresy (Shoresy)
Steve Rogers (Marvel)
Yoda (Star Wars)
The Dude (The Big Lebowski)
Anyone else?

Omg but who's written the crossover/AU between Leverage and LOTR with Eliot Spencer as Sam Gamgee hello fucking quiet strength and encyclopedic knowledge of produce...
Just imagine: Christian Kane breaking down root veg down, while admonishing SmĂŠagol in that gravelly-ass voice..."Po-tay-toes, motherfucker, do you eat them? Boil 'em, mash' em, stick 'em in a stew...??" (*twirls a knife and makes quick work of like 5 lbs of taters that magically appeared out of nowhere*)
*breaks down door holding coffee* I'm here I'm here what'd I miss
Just Eliot Spencer things â¨â
My favorite character type is the fiercely loyal group bruiser with the insanely sketchy past whose evil ex-boss is homoerotically obsessed with them and wants to drag them back to their old life, but the only thing that would make them even think of it would be protecting their new friends who saved them from that life in the first place (especially if the friends have no idea how bad they really were before they all became friends)

Your friendsâ lives hang in the balance and youâre gonna take your cues off a punch-up artist instead of me?
Still one of Eliotâs SEXIEST scenes. Anyone who disagrees can fight me tbh.
Yessss. All of his little fucking microexpressions. And then when he says, âThatâs my job.â Mmmph.
The shirt being the exact color of his eyes is just a bonus. Also his ponytail. So perfect.
Sterling is so stupid in that episode. We have a Retrival Specialist but no let me take over, the guy who has never been in a hostage situation before! And then he gets a promotion? Eliot didn't punch him hard enough
Actually I think about Sam and the treatment IYS wouldn't pay for a lot. I think about the different ways that Maggie and Nate dealt with their grief. Of course Sam's death is completely preventable in Nate's brain. It had to be IYS's fault, because if it wasn't, Nate truly had no control. At least this way it was someone's fault, someone's wrongdoing, something Nate can atone for. He rationalizes and rationalizes and rationalizes and suddenly it's years down the line and he can't let Sam go because IYS killed his son. Meanwhile Maggie's had years to come to terms. Maybe the treatment would have helped, maybe it didn't. She still had to watch her son die either way. Her husband blames himself so much that she's not even there, in his memory. She has to move on, she has to figure it out, otherwise she wouldn't even have a place in her son's story.
I love watching the team bring down bad guys, but...there's something refreshing about The Belly of the Beast Job.
Jenna, a bright-eyed young woman who thinks her boss can move mountains. Hiding a darker past that nobody in the office is aware about. The moment she and the sweet, adorable IT guy find the hidden file on her computer about her boss's sexual harassment, Jenna goes into protector mode.
She can't fight like Eliot, hack like Breanna, thieve like parker, or grift like sophie, but if there's one thing she CAN do, is empathize.
"Let me fight FOR you. Let ME do the fighting. You just have to stay alive. Ill deal with everything else."
She saw what being a victim did to her sister, and she WILL fight tooth and nail to protect every single woman who had been taken advantage of by her wicked boss. She will fight to stop him from claiming MORE victims.
What was it she said to Keith? "The power is the POINT!"
Men in power know they can get away with anything BECAUSE of the power.
But because cute little Jenna weilded a strength nobody--including herself--knew she had, she brought down a corrupt boss.
And instead of pushing her out of the way and taking over, the team HELPED her. They secretly assisted her. They protected her from the sidelines. Eliot following her and beating up the security guys. Breanna tapping the phones in the office. Harry distracting Bad Guy #2.
(Plus, parker got to roofie a serial sex offender. BEST KARMA EVER.)
Sweet Jenna. She lost her job in the end, but she took a real bad, horrible person off the streets. Not once did she give up. Not once did her fears make her give in. Not once did she go, "I'd better leave this to someone else who can do something."
She saw someone in trouble and she took action immediately. She never second guessed herself. She never froze. She saw someone in trouble and said, "im going to help them the way I wished someone had helped my sister."
Jenna deserves more praise.
(Also, I love Keith. He's freaking adorable. Seriously.)
the thing is like men and men really cant be friends because the sex part does always get in the way like thats true. and i mean that like im actually dead serious about that
like have you ever seen two straight men attempt to be friends with each other but the gay sex they arent having is literally preventing them from the transformative healing power of friendship. this is real
i dont even mean this in a "they want to fuck each other" way (although many of them do and will never know it) i mean that like the fact that gay sex is even hypothetically possible between them makes it loom over their friendship like it genuinely haunts them that they could be having it. gay sex is the elephant in the room every time they attempt to be emotionally vulnerable with one another, every time they let a hug linger too long. they cannot address its existence and so there is always something in their way, preventing true connection. and that something is the gay sex. that they are not having. the elephant of gay sex
i block ppl all the time so my blocklist ranges from "actual fucking asshole fascist" n "post that mildly annoyed me because im petty" and if i went thru my blocklist rn i probably would have no idea why i blocked each of them but whatever

Eliot, I stole you a train. Have a little faith.
Youâve laughed and said âIt would probably take a Girl smacking me with a poster saying âI like Youâ for me to get the hint.â The next day, your best friend walks up to you and hits you on the head with a poster board that says âI like youâ
WHY DOES THIS NEVER HAPPEN IN REAL LIFE
