( cis woman  | she/her  | samantha logan ) —— isn’t that ANNETTE FAWLEY ? yeah that is them, outside the three broomsticks! they used to be in SLYTHERIN but apparently they now work as an ACCIDENTAL MAGIC REVERSAL SQUAD APPRENTICE  at the MINISTRY OF MAGIC. sybill once said that they reminded her of understanding chaos because she is wild and not weak, battling the past and losing focus of the present, grappling with your own humanity and lack of control over your life , and being overlooked since there is always better options  which seems about right. anyway i’ve heard they’re still a bit ASTUTE, VENGEFUL  and TREACHEROUS , they’re TWENTY now but some things never change! i wonder how being a PUREBLOOD is affecting them after school, especially now they’re NEUTRAL ? i guess only time will tell…

        ❝   seems   a   bit   silly   doesn’t   it,   the   way   people   crowded   into   fortescues   hoping   florean   would   shove   free   ice   cream   down   their   screaming   throats.   ❞   rabastan   turned   to   annette   as   he   sunk   deeper   into   the   alley   across   the   way,   viewing   the   drama   of   it   all.   he’d   planned   to   go   into   knockturn   once   everything   had   died   down   a   bit,   but   the   people   watching   was   surely   entertaining   enough.

       another  wasted  evening  spent  reviewing  notes  ,  minutes  ticking  by  where  annette  fawley  felt  like  an  imposter .  the  doubt  always  had  a  tendency  to  trickle  in  when  she  felt  stressed  ,  and  at  the  conclusion  of  another  week  of  learning  new  charms  suddenly  had  her  feeling  like  she’d  sought  something  above  her  skill  level  .  but  that  affliction  fades  the  moment  that  she  decides  to  close  her  notebook  filled  with  scribbles  ,  deciding  to  call  it  a  night  and  finish  it  with  an  order  of  the  sourest  cocktail  .  she’s  tapping  the  counter  with  a  non-rhythmic  beat  ,  taking  the  opportunity  to  finally  look  around  before  her  gaze  falls  upon  a  certain  wixen .  the  other  witch  feels  familiar  but  annette  cannot  simply  gather  where  the  two  had  crossed  paths  before  .  ❝  i  haven’t  got  anywhere  pressing  to  be  , ❞   she  says  with  a  smile  that’s  inviting  before  deciding  to  sit  next  to  dilan .  ❝  what’s  a  person  like  you  doing  here  alone  on  a  weekday  ?   ❞  

“no, i love that smell. if they could bottle it up I’d buy it and wear it as perfume.” she was dedicated to quidditch, it as her entire life now and nothing like a strong smell would ever hold her back. she wondered if emma vanity had ever cared about anything this strongly in her life. 

                    he   grins   like   a   child   at   annette’s   words   —   grateful,   and   not   exactly   at   the   fact   that   she’s   playing   along,   but   that   she   isn’t   disregarding   him   completely.   this   would   be   the   perfect   example   dirk   would   show   hana   at   how   lying   about   your   blood   status   has   more   gains   than   faults,   but   he   wasn’t   going   to   risk   letting   her   know   this   news.   ❝   aren’t   you   lucky,   then.   being   with   the   greatest   ministry   tour   guide   of   them   all.   ❞   he   was   gloating   for   sure,   the   word   humble   never   catching   sight   in   his   dictionary.   ❝   something   interesting   ?   are   the   every   day   gossips   not   enough   for   you,   annette,   or   do   you   possibly   have   a   more   acquired   taste   ?   the   advice   column   is   simply   one   of   the   better   reasons   to   grab   one   in   the   mornings.   ❞   not   only   then   were   the   questions   downright   ridiculous,   but   the   answers   were   even   more   entertaining.   you’d   simply   have   to   be   desperate   enough   to   follow   them.   ❝   aye,   you’re   right.   it’s   a   very   good   thing   miss   black   will   be   working   with   goblins   then.   some   can   be   downright   pests.   ❞   he   grinned.   ❝   i   have   no   worries   for   her,   and   neither   should   you.   ❞

        “annie- it’s been a minute. how’s the apprenticeship going? did you start that yet, or did you end up taking the summer off?”

                    ❝   okay,   then   what   if   i   said   i   was   now   walking   you   in   the   opposite   direction   ?   ❞   he   was   cheeky,   that   was   one   thing.   dirk   would   blame   it,   however,   on   who   annette   is   as   a   person   and   how   much   she   intrigued   him.   it   was   also   just   entertaining,   to   him,   to   mess   with   her.   ❝   how   would   you   know   if   you   happened   to   stumble   here   on   accident   ?   ❞   he   inquired   with   a   quirk   of   his   brow.   ❝   i’ll   have   you   know   i   spend   equal   amount   of   time   here   as   gringotts,   just   in   case   you   try   looking   for   me   because   you   miss   me.   ❞   he   continued   them   on   away   from   wherever   it   was   annette   needed   to   be   based   on   his   thoughts,   heading   towards   the   elevators   to   leave   the   dreaded   unwindowed   building.   ❝   —   you’re   right,   though.   my   job   description   also   comes   with   the   ability   to   torment   all   the   new   hires,   andromeda   especially   included.   we   wouldn’t   have   hired   her   if   she   couldn’t   take   it.   ❞  

“it’s just so beautiful in here, don’t you think? broom polish was one of the things in my amortentia in school.”

         ❝ i’ll  have  to  admit  i  haven’t  really  wandered  in  here  .  never  had  the  opportunity  or  well ,  the  need  to  ,  i  guess  .  but  the  smell  -   it’s  rather  strong  .  it  doesn’t  give  you  a  headache  ?    ❞ 

hana had a small amount of friends and some were here, others- she had no idea. she didn’t know why she came when she had work in the morning. though by the looks of it she might be having an early night in anyway. she looked over at the woman, thinking that maybe she had recognized her but decided against further questioning it. “i wouldn’t say i’m melancholic, just bored and feeling old.” she says with a small smile shaking her head. she wouldn’t lie being in a house with a bunch of purebloods definitely didn’t help, she wanted to roll her eyes at the whole scene but from what she knew some of the people weren’t actually that bad and hana needed to get over her generalization of most purebloods. “sure,” she says with a snort, untwisting the cap and pouring a heavy amount in their cup. “cheers,” she says, clinking their respective cup and glass before taking a drink.
